Yeah. and the evidence was "conveniently"non-existent today.
I find the "2nd remix PS1 WILL fail your game despite your performance in Dub-I-Dub and Paranoia when the disc gets scratched up enough" rumor to be funnier.

That happened to me when I placed my ancient 2nd ReMix disc in the PS1

-Rhythm and Police expert has a max combo of 420... coincidence?...
Yes, considering its original max combo was from a game where jumps count as one. Song debuted on 4th plus.

RHYTHM AND POLICE(K.O.G. G3 Mix) goes "Cut the drugs, uh!" and 420 sometimes is used in reference to drugs.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/420_%28cannabis_culture%29

Do you have photos of So Deep being a 10 or a description of Tsugaru
?
I heard that they once tried to have some licenses be as hard (or at least at the same rating) as Boss Songs.

So deep was a 10 in beta, I don't think any pictures actually exist though. Also flash in the night was reportedly an 8, but was removed before release.
As for tsugaru standard, back in beta testing for 7th mix the boss song was actually a new paranoia. the song was deemed too hard for DDR by top level players like yasu and replaced with maxx unlimited. There was a glitch on early versions of the game that caused this chart to show up in place of tsugaru standard, and a child that was playing at the time tried to do it but fell off the machine and died. True story.*
Tsugaru in 7th mix beta was actually tsugaru apple mix. Take note of the guitar strumming patterns, it was intended to be a boss song. Deemed too hard for most players, the chart was changed to what we know for tsugaru apple mix oni and a remix was created and passed off as the original tsugaru. Unfortunately an oversite caused the removed chart to be placed on tsugaru standard on early machines, when accessed the player died, 2 men around the machine got nose bleeds, and a woman became pregnant. True story.*
*not really
Those are the stories I know for tsugaru standard. Really it was just a hilarious joke on gamefaqs along with "end of the century is the hardest song ever" and "the dr.pepper promotion to unlock 'dr.max' in max2us". People actually bought this stuff, it was awesome.

Well, I have photos of all of the songs in the test location version (yay for being there and the Konami rep not caring that I was taking so many pictures) I don't remember Flash in the Night being there at all in the test location version, at least not the one I attended in Ikebukuro. So Deep was on there and I almost remember it being a 10 but I can't for the life of me remember now if it was rated a 9 or a 10. I have no idea about Tsugaru standard, though; nobody played it when I was there.

Does that show... Era... being... rated... a... 7?
Gosh, Konami... you guys rated so badly in that version. I mean, so many of the 7s should be 8s and so many of the 8s should be 9s.
At least they rated Drop the Bomb a 7 like it deserves.

tsugaru standard stuff
I actually managed to pass Tsugaru Standard once a long time ago, but once I did, my dog and my grandmother died, and I woke up in the middle of the night bleeding uncontrollably.
It was almost as crazy as the time I got Mad Cow Disease from Cutie Chaser Morning Mix on Beginner, or the time I went into a coma as a result of Chaos Beginner on Little.

Supposedly, Max to the XXXimum by β (Beta (Naoki)) was the Extra Stage in the DDR EXTREME Location Test.
Like Ashura96 said in another thread, It was too hard for skilled players to play this chart and legs were broken if people attempted it. It was said to be a 400 BPM version of The Legend of Max and it was replaced by The Legend of Max (Official Song 333 BPM) instead. Rumors are spread claiming Fascination MaxX is Max to the XXXimum but a different remix and slightly easier. Simfiles were released which was supposedly Max to the XXXimum song itself. People believe it is real and others think its a fan-made rumor.

Actually, I'm pretty sure there never was a Max to the XXXimum. We would have some form of proof from someone who's played the beta. Legend of Max even follows the rule of the Max songs where Max 300's ending leads to MaxX Unlimited's beginning and MaxX Unlimited's ending leads into The Legend of Max's beginning.

If I remember right, "MEMORIES" might be a MAX2 beta song, when it got removed in the final MAX2 version, it appeared in EuroMIX2 instead.

The Final Stage system appeared before Supernova 2. On the Japanese PS2 version of Max2, Paranoia Survivor is available as the Final Stage. The only way to unlock it is to clear it on

Which was taken from extreme AC, on locked machines TMS works this way, and that was released before 7th mix CS.
