Each scratching part has a seperate note per say...for each note you have to scrath a different way, it seems like one of those things that practice will make perfect.
The turntable is way to loose to control little movements with though and the crossfader seemed really awkard, but overall i think it will be a great addition to the music genre and hopefully the final controller will be better
Sadly the volume was preety low on thier tv to...

That intro video makes absolutely no sense.
Also the music in the video is from Need for Speed Undercover.
...Actually, the song your taking about that is mixed in that video is Justice's "Genesis"...

...yup...i could make a long and extraneous comment about it like the above image does, but i need tgt bed, so night

Send that video back to like 2002, and tell everyone that's what dj games will be like in 10 years lol.

Ok, some of you may or may not know, but i attended the DJ Hero Demo day at my local Gamestop to try out the game for the first time.
Here is my review about the game and controller:
Game:
Overall, i was impressed with the game and the way it looks, although looking at the videos, you can tell that they didn't either care much about it or they could only find that spot to put it there to try it out. Nonetheless, it was fine by me
. I was having a hard time trying to see if i could change the difficulty, but you would have to quit the set list and go all the way back to the main menu which i didn't want to do at first.
On the menu, you can choose three things: Tutorial, Quickplay: Single DJ, and Quickplay: DJ + Guitar. I could only pick the first two because i could not see a guitar hooked up to the 360. From there, you can choose two characters, this one rocker chick and this guy with Kanye West glasses...yeah.
Gameplay was ok, i knew what to do because i saw the tutorial videos WAY before this event happened, so i knew what to do, BUT using the controller gave me problems the first time i handled it. I got used to it after the second mix though.
Tapping the buttons is easy, scratching and cross fading is actually tough. When on Easy/Medium/Hard, the scratch notes have to start and end PRECISELY, meaning if you end it a bit early or a bit too late, it will cut off that section of the track. This may take some time for most people to get, but once you do, it'll be pretty easy. Cross fading also needs precision, you can't be neither too early nor too late to move from left and right. There is a thing in the middle that "clicks", basically indicating that you are now on the center. I thought that was pretty helpful
Controller:
It was ok, hell probably could go as far as saying pretty damn good. Turntable is pretty loose, it was almost as if i were to take it and just pull with all my might, i could make that thing spin until it just broke off...i didn't do that during the day, but it almost felt i could have though >_>.
Buttons were good (but they make noise), the turntable was good, cross fader loose but you'll get used to it, the dial is not spring-loaded, you just turn it on direction or another without any resistance. They need to work on the Euphoria button, or have it so that Euphoria is ready and awaiting because i didn't notice the button "flashing" until i looked down onto the controller. Basically, in a dark room, you can see it flashing, if your in a lighted room, you probably might not.
And that's my review of the demo, here are three vids that i took while at the Gamestop:
Part 1 ("I Heard It Through The Grapevine" VS. "Feel Good Inc" on Medium Difficulty).
Part 2 ("Hollaback Girl" VS. "Give It To Me" on Medium Difficulty).
Part 3 ("Boom Boom Pow" VS. "Satisfaction" on Hard Difficulty).

Awesome. Part 1 and 3 were cool, yuck Hollaback mix
. Compared to real Djing, the turntable should feel loose (because you can have low or high torque on real vinyl) and it must be trying to emulate vinyl with a Butterrug slipmat. So scratching, effects, and a sampler... I'm getting this. Thanks for the videos dude!!!

FUCKING THING SUCKS!
Though really, until I actually have a chance to play it, my general attitude will be "no care ever".

Duh, this is different. It's for club/top 40 songs, not the unheard of (BUT AMAZING) bemani songs. I like this and IIDX.
Scratch: The Ultimate DJ on the other hand is a ripoff and looks like it pretty much blows. DJ Hero, Guitar Hero, Rock Band: all the American games will never have the hardass learning curve that IIDX or Pop'n have that makes BEMANI games awesome, so stop complaining and play IIDX instead. Or be like me and play both.
Although in all respects, getting a modded PS2, a IIDX game & controller will be a lot less than the EXPENSIVE Dj hero game.

I'll take this over most anything else anytime of the week. This game is FUCKING awesome! Can't wait to actually try it on Expert where you can't just wing the scratches anymore. Like anything else, you just gotta get a feel for it.

They had this on demo at my local TRU. Seemed okay. Not a big fan of the music, but I think they decided to go the big name mainstream route to get the game to appeal to the masses.
I'd suggest going to either a Gamestop, Best Buy, or Toys R Us to try the game out before you buy it.

Looks fun. Possibly a christmas gift for me. Thank god there is a PS2 version. =3
Thanks for the vids Max, as it really showed how it worked in motion. I could probably get a friend or two of mine to actually play this...

IIDX and pop'n have a learning curve, the rest of the popular bemani titles are really easy to learn, and on top of that have a few things against them that make american made games of the same type harder.
ITG is harder than DDR because of song length and roxor not being afraid of using bat shit stupid patterns and note speeds(not scroll speeds, but how fast you step). you cant deny that song length plays a factor either, a 1:30 version of pandemonium would be easier to pass than the 2:00 version. a 2:00 version of PRO would be harder to pass than the 1:30 version.
GH and RB drums are harder than drum mania because of the length of the songs, and GH gets the edge for expert +. compare TTFAF in EX+ in GHSH to the version in DM. EXACTLY. also, raining blood EX+ is freaking dumb. lets not forget visions in RB2, among others. if DM songs were longer they would contend with RB, but unless they go the EX+ route they would never match GH in difficulty. length of the songs comes in because with charts like RTTH you wont get as tired at 2:00 as you would half way through the long as string of reds in the RB DLC version(possibly the cover in RB1 as well, but i'm not familiar with that chart).
GH and RB guitar are harder than guitar freaks because there are more buttons. look at satch boogie, GH or RB chart, doesnt matter. you cant make patterns like that in GF. this new guitar freaks thats coming out that apparently has 5 buttons might just blow these out of the water in difficulty though, especially with no HO/PO system, but that remains to be seen. right now, GH is harder than GF.
on the other hand, IIDX and pop'n are harder than all of them, so you have half a point with that statement.
on another note, i played DJ hero at gamestop. its fun, and this is coming from someone who owns several IIDX titles. its WAY too different to compare, plain and simple, so everyone doing so needs to stop with all the IIDX crap, you know who you are. the little switch thingie is a nice touch that hasnt really been done before, and the gameplay style requiring scratches to activate button presses makes the gameplay familiar enough to GH/RB/GF veterans to pick up and play with relative ease. i would have liked to see atleast one more button on the controller though.
scratch has been brought up, and i'll say it now, ITG WAS FUCKING AWESOME AND IS THE SAME EXACT CONCEPT AS DDR. scratch is the same thing as 5 key beatmania, IT HAS POTENTIAL TO BE FUCKING AWESOME. if ITG could stand as a good rhythm game despite being NO WHERE NEAR ORIGINAL IN GAME PRESENATION, so can scratch. its that simple guys. i know this is a bemani site, but try to use some common sense. half the people slamming scratch will go to the arcade this weekend and play ITG2 without considering it a DDR rip off. i'm going to pick up scratch and give it a try without considering it a beatmania rip off.
