OK. Can you handle this EternuS edit? (Just the .sm file; I'm sure you have the simfile lying around somewhere.)
I call it Eternally12Beat because of all the freezes in the middle and of course the 12ths.
Maybe I'll upload the 16ths at 130 simfile sometime so you can take a look if you can handle it.

I think I can handle that easily.
Is that for Konami's cut of Eternus? I have ~12 different Eternus simfiles, which use 6 different cuts of the music.

So, ziv348: Good Eternus edit. Doesn't follow the music all the time, but you probably chose to do that. Good file for people working up speed for steady streams.
Video link
hooky: Only played So Deep. Boring step placement, steps don't follow the music at all, and 16th step jumps suck. I have a video of me playing it if you want me to put one up, but since I was harsh on it, I'll leave it up to you whether the video goes up or not. I'm in a bad mood today because of work, so don't take this too much to heart.
Something I'm semi proud of: Sector 7 Hath Wrought the Angel
passed. It's off of groovestats if you want the simfile.

Hey Kyzentun,
How are those cobalt fluxs treating you?
I want to buy one and you look like (and know) what your doing, so should I get one?
Had preordered a MYMYBOX blueshark 3" , but they screwed up everyone's order.

I've had these Cobalt fluxes since November 2007, and they're still working good. No "pad crap" to speak of, except for a couple incidents.
I've cleaned them 3, maybe 4 times. Not because I started getting pad crap, but because I had some wacky idea and had the panels off anyway.
So, I'd say they're well worth the money, if you like no bar play.
Various notes:
The doubles bar for connecting them requires washers, which you will have to buy yourself. I don't know how long the screws stay in with washers, because I didn't get them until too late. Without washers, you have maybe 100 hours of play with them connected before the screws will no longer hold them together usefully. This is with retightening the screws every 4 hours or so. The holes wear out. So, that's why I built the frame for going around them. I spent ~$100 on the frame and used my uncle's tools and garage to build it. I consider it the only solution for a serious doubles player on a CF pair.
Bracketing jumps is somewhat more difficult than at the arcade, due to the corner being the least "sensitive" part of the panel. It's not quite impossible, but my feet are size 10.5, and I get a miss half the time when I try to bracket a jump.
If you're going to be doing a lot of hands, like BYM
S or D, then the screws need to be a bit loose. I slide my fingernail under the screw, then tighten until I can barely slide my fingernail under without pushing hard. This makes the panels require less force to activate and hold down, but increases tearing of socks.
If you're a sockfag, tighten those screws down unless you have plenty of money for cheap socks. I tighten them until I cannot force a fingernail under them. But, I only tighten the central 16 screws, because those are the ones my feet pass over. I leave the other ones loosened as above for sensitivity. Also, a fresh or clean pair of socks will slide easily and provide little grip until it's picked up enough dirt and sweat. For me, it takes ~30 minutes of 9s to pick up enough to give good grip for something like Dam Dariram D-
. ~45 minutes for something like Max 300 D-
.
If you want to play HP with CFs, order the PS2->GC adapters. Also, take 4 pieces of cardboard, ~8"x8" each, and put one under each corner panel you want to deactivate. If you have problems with the cardboard moving, make it the full size of the panel, and put the screws through it.
If you want to play PIU on the PS2, CF provides a PIU compatible control box for PS2 on their site. You'll have to look around (I haven't) to find a PIU compatible control box for PC. It might occur to you to just swap the center panel with one of the other panels, but most likely, this will not work, due to tiny imprecisions in holes drilled to hold the panels on.
IMPORTANT:
CFs are not made with millimeter precision. Whenever you take the screws out and remove the lexan, make you remember the orientation and position of each lexan panel, because most likely, it will only fit in one place, and only in one way. I have a panel that I stuck back in the wrong place, and it fits, but the lexan was hitting the doubles bar and causing occasional pad misses until I sanded it down.
When I work take a panel off of one pad, I'll put the piece of lexan on the corresponding panel on the other pad, without rotating it all. That way, I know exactly where and how it goes when I put it back on.
ALSO IMPORTANT:
Don't let this long list of things overwhelm you to the point of being afraid of getting one or a pair. I am simply trying to be as complete as possible, and you could probably find a similarly complete review of any other brand of pad if you asked the right person.

Buys 1 CF.
That is the best review I have seen so far. I have a doubles setup with some crappy TX-1000's (MAJOR MODS) with actual ddr arcade panels. I use cotton balls (ghetto) underneath the arrow corners for cushioning with contact and me and my grandpa welded a steel frame on the back for the bars which are made of red pvc pipe. For doubles, I tend to stick to 7s-really easy 9's so they work great for that, but for FELM Heavy D, not so well cause I kinda suck at really hard doubles.
But for singles I was looking at a pad with greater accuracy and I have now found it.
Thanks Kyzentun, I'd put you up +5, but you are already there.
Thanks again!

I'm glad you liked my edit. The 12th streams were just about my only choice for making this hard without tossing in jumps a la Arrabiata; the Expert chart already got most of the rhythms down, and as CyricZ said, the song is mostly rhythm.
Originally I had put jackhammer patterns (something like LDDURRDUULRRLLLDDDUUURRR) near the end of the section before it went into the freeze "maze" and at the end of the song, but seeing as you might hate me for that, I replaced it with alternating side to side triplets instead at the last minute.

Looks like a good chart in the stepchart viewer. I'll try it tonight unless I feel lazy or get too distracted getting "AAA"s on SN2.
Hot LImit: 1x music and 2x music. Passed 2x with a Q!
Number 1: AAA
Love On My Mind: AAA
Every Little Step: AAA
Hope you guys don't mind me posting my SN2/X AAA videos here.

If you're still curious about the 130 BPM simfile, here it is. Do view the charts before attempting.
If you prefer a less severe challenge, you might want to try the Expert (Heavy) chart. Or you can try this Uranus edit. The Uranus edit is called "For True Grand Cross" and reflects what the Challenge should have been. It also has 573 steps exactly.

Due to pain in my right toes, I'm staying off my feet for a week. I'll try this stuff after that though.

I got owned by the 16ths at the end. It's surprising how much difference a week of not playing makes. And how's the current injury? Good, I hope.
I can still feel the injury in my toes, but this morning's session didn't seem to make it worse.

Actually, it started the weekend before that video, when I was at a friend's house, and did more 10s and 11s than I usually do. That was just amongst the others.
