I think you get points on how well the steps are, how well the steps are synced with the song and so on.

I know that, I just wanna know what the maximum score possible is. Is it like Best-Mix 1 Public Judging (mark out of 4 for the presentation, mark out of 6 for the steps, leading to a max score of 10), or something out of 100 or so? Whatever it is determines whether getting a 1 point penalty would be a good risk to take.

The contest will utilize the current ZiV comments and ratings system, with the review in the comments and the final score as the rating.

So, it's entirely public review-based. Oh, dear, you're treading on thin ice here. Get ready for a wave of "I don't like the song, 1/10." Or, as it's more commonly known, StepMix judging.

The song IS going to affect how you judge the simfile, because it's the whole point of it. But to me, just the song would have minimal weight on the score.

Maybe you should provide guidelines and every review has to post scores based on them?

Here's an idea that I blatantly stole off of Best-Mix:

Give a mark out of 6 for the steps. This includes all charts, and can be split whatever way you see fit (2 for Light, Standard and Heavy, and so forth). Also, feel free to deduct marks if the file is notably offsync.
Give a mark out of 4 for the presentation. This includes quality of music file, all graphics work, and readme quality, etc. You can comment of the choice of song and it's suitability for DDR, but don't knock marks off just because you don't like it. This ain't a favourite song contest.

Add 'em both together, and you get a mark out of 10.

You don't have to be ashamed to use Paint (I'm not ). If you think the graphics fit the song well, go ahead and use them.

Kynayo has been uploading incomplete simfiles and updating them little by little (without entering them first ). Should he not do this if he doesn't plan on finishing within the next day?
