DDR II & hottest party 5 (Wii) (International)

Quick question for anyone who played past DDR games on the Wii. Can you play the game without a pad? I'd prefer to experience the game just using a classic or gamecube controller

I...think you can? Well, you're talking to a guy who has never played/owned a Wii DDR game until October 11th so...yeah.

But still, if you can play DDR on your PS2 controller i would doubt you can't do it without the DDR mat for other consoles...

You can play it with a Gamecube Controller or a Classic Controller.

Actually, you can only use the Game Cube controller with the original Hottest Party. Hottest Party 2 and onward will only recognize the Wii classic controller.

Nunchuck + Wii Remote combo works although it sucks hardcore if you're not used to the analog stick but I'm sure you knew that if you've played.

I use the Wii Remote and Nun Chuck but it hurts my hand using the Wii Remote since the 4 button panels are so small.

Nope, I have HP2 and HP3 and the Gamecube Controller works on both of them.

I'm hoping the next reveal will have some Vanilla Ice and Maxi Priest action.

They should do more of those kind of features.

Really? That is interesting. My copy of HP3 will only pick up the Classic Controller. I've also heard of others only being able to use the classic controller, so maybe it's a game by game thing?

You know since all these collaboration songs will be in X3 VS. DDR 2nd Remix, Konami will take so much pride advertising these songs. "Hey look at what we got here! Pop stars from America and England make sweet music to our beloved in-house musicians!"

While they have mentioned that many songs will be shared between DDR II and DDR X3, not all of them will be, and we shouldn't assume any given song will be on X3 until it's confirmed, because there will definitely be some exclusives as well. Definitely because of name-recognition, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Vanilla Ice and Maxi Priest songs on X3, but I'm not going to consider anything certain until we see it.

Is your Gamecube controller original? From HP2 onwards there were compatibility issues with some 3rd party mats, so maybe it happens with Gamecube controllers too.

Which would be good, yes, unless the 30 songs are repeats from previous games or are lame.
