Something about how the stars shown on the evaluation screen are bonuses relating to EXTRA STAGE. If you play a song you've already played you get less stars.

Let's see... a decent smattering from DDR I and II, no idea if any of the DDR I charts are fixed yet, new ES, Unbelievable as EES (which, let's face it, is a million times better than Crazy <3 Love being EES). New Sota, yay. New Kors K, yay.

Seems that a AA gives you three stars and a AAA gives you four. You need at least three to access the EXTRA STAGE.

If that's the case, I wonder what all the empty stars underneath the Report (underneath where it says It's A New Record) mean. The next unlock, mayhaps?

Very cute. Except the stars don't indicate the grade itself, and so far we've seen blue, red and gold stars.

Someone got a B on Expert: Blue, Red, nothing

Other people on twitter are confirming that there are no new western licenses. Others are also pointing out that playing the same song twice will not award you any stars in addition to the ones you got the first time around, ala the old Bonus system.

I think the stars are Pass Lamps?

The first star corresponds to the highest grade achieved on the song, the middle one could be anything achieved in both of those pictures (maybe that you cleared the song?), and the last star shows that you full combo'd it?

If you played the song a second time with a similar score, of course you wouldn't get any more stars, because you've already lit up all of those lamps for that song?

So like a checklist for that song. I'm going to assume that getting all three stars for a song will fill up the bar on the bottom. And then once that's full... RDA?

Is that from the 2ndMIX Mode? Whoa, they did a good job at that!

A flood of new tweets are saying that trucks are driving through Tokyo dropping off brand new DDR X3 machines. One location got three machines.

Another tweet says that the old 2ndMIX button command works on the title screen. :3

That would mean full-combo AAing 3 songs you've never played on that E-Amuse account before, which is something I believe they'd try and promote.

The obvious guess is that there are 9 different coloured stars, and you need to collect all 9 to fill up the bar at the bottom, then something happens, and they all get taken away again afterwards. That rules out the idea that "Blue Star = B Grade", though, because it would be no fun to have to intentionally get B grades.

Maybe playing with certain mods changes the colour of the stars?

Right, just like the badges in X2's RDA. Only they've extended that unlocking mechanism to the entire game. I can imagine that it will be rather painstaking to get to this game's Valkyrie Dimension.

Damn. If that's the case, we better see a 20 footer for all this hard work.
