I love how the report I saw said he was shot and captured... in that order.

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana" |
I'm thinking of quitting my job...
Ever since I started working at this cafe in Little Tokyo, my life has been hell. The funny thing is that it's not really the job itself I hate. I don't exactly love it, but making various kinds of drinks is pretty cool and 99% of the customers are really nice. It's my boss that makes me want to never step foot in that shop again.
On some level, I feel sorry for the boss. He really has no personal life. He's around 40 years old with no spouse and literally comes into the cafe every day of the week for at least 8 hours. I've heard from the other workers that he apparently has some wildly successful brother that makes him feel very insecure about himself. But this is really no reason to take it out on the people who work for you.
For one, his expectations for workers are WAY too high. Yesterday he was complaining to me and another new worker that he has never hired anyone who met his expectations. At some point wouldn't you begin to take a second look at your expectations? His expectations for us currently: know how to do every single thing needed at the cafe without needing assistance from anyone, even those things that we have not been taught to do yet (in his mind, we should have been asking how to do the things we haven't been taught yet while we were still in training. Not sure where we would have fit that in since it's not like we just stand around all day doing nothing, we were being trained and he even told us on our first day that it would be impossible to learn everything in our 5 days of training but to do our best).
He also expects us to memorize how to make everything upon seeing it made once. Whenever he was showing us how to make something he would always say "Act like this is the only time anyone's ever going to teach you how to make this and you'll never be shown again." Because apparently that will make me memorize it but all it ends up doing is making me so nervous that I can't think straight. It's hard to explain, but the way that he says things really hits you deep. He really has no problem tossing around words like "lazy", "useless", and "worthless" to the staff. So you can imagine how I feel about myself right now. I can't really function when I'm at home because all I can think about is whatever he said about me that particular day.
Oh yeah, I should probably mention that over the past year countless people have been hired and subsequently quit after a short while because of him. The number I know of is 7, but I suspect it could be even larger. Keep in mind that we have about 7 people working at the cafe right now, so that's a huge number of people to quit in that amount of time. He is also hated by every staff member currently working. It's so bad that he cannot be in the cafe at the same time with one of the staff members because they get in fights all the time. Why doesn't the boss fire that employee? He's one of only three employees that have been working for more than a year and because new employees quit all the time, it would cause him a lot of trouble to let that guy go. Not only is he hated among the employees of the cafe, but he's also hated by many people in the surrounding stores/restaurants. Everyone has their own horror story.
My only light at the end of the tunnel is that he is apparently leaving within the next month and we're getting a new manager. I say apparently because I've heard that he often uses this line when people are getting particularly fed up with him, but apparently this time its legit. We'll see. My original plan was to wait until the school quarter ended in December but I don't know how long I can last at this rate...

If you are thinking about leaving, then I would keep the job you have now and try to look for another one. Once you find another job then quit the old one. This way you have something to fall back on when it comes to money.

Yes. I've told him very nicely that I am trying my best and that the way he says things makes me upset. His usual response is "I know you're doing your best, you're a great worker, and I'm just trying to push you harder".
Then 5 minutes later it's back to the same old shit.
I don't even care about the money at this point. This job is literally sucking out my will to live.

So, I finished watching Troll 2. My reaction:
For those of you who haven't seen it, I highly recommend watching it.

The "trolls" don't even look like that ^, sadly. False advertising.

Any chart that is in PTF is horrible. Whoever charted all of them in this track deserves to be shot.
