There won't be conversion kits for SN cabs.

It could have a release identical to the Japanese one and I still wouldn't have a chance to play it; you think the US arcade scene is bad, Canada is worse. At least around here, there's still no X machines, and the only SuperNOVA2 machines I knew are gone now.

I agree. Regardless, DDR X2 will get the usual simfile treatment so everyone with a computer and the internet can play the songs on StepMania, or if they're so inclined, a custom home setup or an r21. There will most likely be upgrade kits available to general Asia so it'll be in Singapore day of and Malaysia a few months after that.

However I still worry about America and Europe. Surely Konami won't leave millions of fan out in the rain again. The game is looking even better than DDR X, the songs revealed thus far and the care Konami is taking with fan opinion pretty much guarantees for me that this will be a rock solid release. Yet the one thing that effectively killed DDR X outside of Japan still hangs in the air. I want to believe.

Well, consider the fact that there were no upgrade kits for X to begin with in the US/EU and the fact that all indications are that Japanese upgrade kits will only be for X dedicabs or old cabs already upgraded to X.

For America and Europe, the upgrades will be from X.

um... Latin America has DDRX too. Don't forget it.

So the upgrade kits for X2 will only be upgrade kits, there won't be any conversion kits for machines running legacy hardware. Again, is that what Konami said or is it just an assumption?
