Nice box art...
I agree with Arctic Wolves about Konami's attempt at a global console release. Which leads me to question Konami's decision on releasing DDR X before ANY arcade version is released.

Same here. There's no reason any franchise HAS to release a new game every single year, right? Japan has always gotten Bemani CS games around the time the next version was released, so they shouldn't feel the need to rush for us.

I'm assuming that the home console releases are leading this time due to the link function... which according to Konami is real this time. =\
The question is... will Japan get their home release first this time or will they wait until after like almost all of their home releases to date?

As long as it's being released, that's good enough for me.

Well, Konami has a release date of "Winter" for both the Arcade game and the console game, and the official console site was opened on the same day as the arcade site was. So, one has to assume that they will be released much closer than previous AC-CS games.

Amazon also has more screenshots, though none of them really show anything new.
Those aren't new, I saw them there a couple months ago.You can tell by the combo text and judgement graphics, they've been updated since the game was announced and the initial screens showed up.

There do seem to be multiple toasties, like compare the USA one for 20 combo with the small thumbnail shots on the JP DDR X site (PS2)

Are they? They look like they were from the set released in May, but I never saw them on any website.

ye know, arctic wolves did bring up a good point.
also another thing to think about is that konami is even more rushed this year cuz the release date is a full 10 days earlier than it was last year

I wouldn't call it rushing unless it's at least a month earlier.

Well yeah, Konami isn't going to give out the full song list a couple months before release. They only gave the initial song list of SN2.

They probably were released around May, but I guess Amazon was able to bag exclusive screenshots.

I guess we're kinda lucky that we get to see some KO's then that are gonna be in this game.

but normally konami will actually release the default song list to some of the major gaming sites around a month or so before the release and last year we only got to see most of the defualt song list because the game was at comic-con, this year nothing has been displayed so all we can hope for is that konami releases the default songlist this year like they always used to.
also, I'd reallylike to agree with AeronPrometheus and say that they are releasing the game before the arcade version due to the linking feature

Do you think Konami should make a direct port of the arcade for North America?

congratulations!!
not necessarily, but personally I think that NA should get a near arcade port. ala SN CS US
I mean, its a good idea to throw in a few a American licensed songs in the game. and its also a good idea to give us ko's that we've never seen before on a game so that we can in theory "catch up" with the japanese.
but even, though konami did give us a lot of good (and expensive) licenses for sn2 cs, i really felt that there were waaaay too many licenses and that a lot of them really didn't fit the "ddr dance" genre.

I was thinking they would actually put in this music in DDR X. That would make a great addition and would definitely rock the sale for Konami if they decided to put in the video too.. lol
