We don't know at the moment. Personally, I wouldn't be that surprised if it didn't.

There are people who try it for the first time and has so much fun mistepping the arrows on Beginner lol. But I always help them and say good job. I always hope people stay on it. I can never see anyone play for the first time on beginner at the arcade and comes back to the machines to get better and that's when the PS2/Wii games come in. People are soooo self-conciences lol.

Well, thanks to R3 and stuff, people still freestyle and stuff, but it's not Afronova and PARONiA Rebith anymore, it's The Legend of Max and PSMO. Players want to move those feet and get that adredaline rush ITG can never give (to me).

I've seen people around cabs play Standard-Expert, but casually.
They level-up after some time span (half a year, give or take...)
They end up pretty good players and nice people. Smile

Freestyling PSMO?
I'd pay to see that. But then again, I've never seen anyone freestyle to a song faster than 170bpm.

Where do you play that absolutely no one watches you?

Pretty much every arcade in America doesn't draw huge crowds anymore.

Virtually every arcade I played in in America got people watching me. Several had very good-sized crowds that would even cheer at the end of each song. I'd have to go to a very obscure arcade or go to one at 2 PM on a Tuesday to be completely alone while I play. In Malaysia's Sunway Pyramid, if I play on the weekends, bystanders will clog the entire triple wide hallway with people just by doing 8s and 9s.

To just lay this out once and for all.

If you aren't:
-doing backflips ...
-playing a song that is popular amongst people of this day and age ...
-playing doubles charts ...

no one would like to watch you play.
Fixed Big Grin

yes, people actually watch doubles.

Doubles, exactly. I guess that's why people like to watch me. Tongue

Out of interest, when was this? This used to be the case in the UK 3 or 4 years ago, but it's not really the same nowadays (playing doubles tends to attract more people than playing singles, though).

Over here, you get much smaller crowds (and very often no crowd at all) watching you play than in the "good old days".

AeronPeryton has a major ego.

We are talking about the current day.
If you were to go to an arcade or a place with a cab, you would get 88/89 less viewers than before.

I can picture people "freestyling" Heaven is a '57 metallic gray(gimmix) and Calico Cat Rock just because they have a swing beat to them, but that's it.

One of my college roommates told me about a friend of his who memorized Afronova and could play it facing backwards (or maybe it was blindfolded). He even knew the lyrics, lol.

I was gonna say There You'll Be also, but that was just a song my roommate would 2x Dark no-bar a lot that I never played.
Play my game Arcana Seal of Rimsala (SNES)!

I could play afronova backwards, and there are no real lyrics, its just random chanting samples. There used by Bond as well.

I played in Houston TX until May 2007 and SoCal & Las Vegas until June 2009. The crowds are definitely more interested over here in south east Asia though. And it's not because I'm a ex-pat either, I've been part of crowds watching locals play. Hell, the ParaParaParadise machines draw spectators!

A friend of mine had this last Christmas in London, and he played at a few arcades, so I'll ask him if his dancing drew any kind of a crowd or not.

What if I only had 40 people watching? Would I get -48 if I played today?

Indeed, they use several of the same samples in their song "Shine" (off the album of the same name in 2002).

I think I've heard them in a sampling masters MEGA track from ~1996. Which is probably the earliest example it's been used.

Also lyrics, "JABAS, THE CORNER-CORNER SHOP, HEY! HEY!"
