The VMAs: People dressing in drag, weak performances by amazing singers, and Justin Bieber winning an award over...well, everyone else. Screw this. I'm going to bed -_-

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana" |
Whew, so here's my rundown of the VMAs...
Lady Gaga's opening performance was the most talked about thing about the VMAs. The opening monologue was EPIC and the performance was good, although you could tell her voice started to waver at the very end. Not her very best performance, but it was good.
Adele is an excellent singer, but I'm sorry, I just can't get excited when someone just sits/stands there and sings. Honestly, I can listen to the song or a live recording of the song and get the same amount of excitement. Also, I wish Set Fire to the Rain was Adele's choice for the single because that song slays me so hard. Chris Brown had a lot of crazy choreography, but I'm sorry, I can't give you a lot of credit if you don't sing the song...
Britney tribute was a little awkward, but I thought Britney/Beyonce/Gaga all on stage interacting together was so cute. Three artists I love and you can tell they were all having fun on stage. Amy's tribute was a bit of a letdown considering it was rumored that it would feature Tony Bennet, Adele, and Lady Gaga and ended up featuring...Bruno Mars, doing a song of hers that was a cover of another song. It seemed a bit disrespectful if you ask me, and I'm not even an Amy fan.
The outfits this year were fucking ridiculous. Everyone felt like they had to pull a Gaga, but none of them knew how. Apparently they thought that stringing a bunch of random shit together is how you make a Gaga outfit. Sorry, but no. IMO, Selena Gomez had the best fashion of the night with her beautiful dress, but I felt it looked a bit odd on her. It's a much more "mature" outfit (and I don't mean that it showed a lot of skin, it just looks like it was made for someone who was older than a teenager) than she can pull off.
No one and I mean NO ONE was worse than Katy Perry though. Girl arrived in a Chinese dress with dyed pink hair and a geisha umbrella, yuck. Then when she accepted VOTY, she showed up with a completely random top/skirt combo with a giant block of cheese on her head. Even the Katy fans were irking. The best part of the show was the fact that Gaga showed up dressed as her alter-ego Jo in a suit and never changed once. While so many stars were trying to out-do her fashion, she was sitting on the sidelines going "That is SOOO last year".
Then there was Justin Bieber's big acceptance speech in which he thanked "God and Jesus", which caused his fans to go on Twitter and start a whole religious debate trying to not make him look stupid. I feel for Justin though, me and him are both guys who look way younger than our age, which can be much worse than it appears. Seriously, employees at casinos/clubs don't even QUESTION me, they just automatically assume I'm a minor trying to sneak in and turn me away before I have to show them my ID to convince them. One time I was even pulled over by some cops because they thought I was ditching school, good grief, I'm 22...
As for the awards themselves, no one really walked away as the "big" winner this year. Adele and Katy were nominated for a TON of awards, but they both ended up only winning a few. Katy deserved VOTY as far as I'm concerned, but only because the other videos suck, but her award is overshadowed by the fact that she lost a vast majority of the stuff she was nominated for. Gaga won two of the four awards she was nominated for, including her big prize: Best Female Video.
tl;dr this show was a completely and utter mess of a show.

Going bowling with my buddy tomorrow at 6:00. I have also been watching a lot of George Lopez and soon to be Baka and Test. My uncle is going to be with me for a few weeks and so far things have been awesome.

"Charlie isn't real" |
Oh, forgot to mention i scored the job at Busch Gardens for their Halloween event (Howl-O-Scream). At the time of the recruiting, they were majorly looking for subs (who would be picked for random dates to fill in spots) and only a FEW permanents (that will work throughout all the event dates).
I got picked as a permanent :3
I will be working as a "street creep", not sure what i will exactly be but from the looks of this year's theme i will more than likely act out as a zombie. Still gotta go on certain days before the event to get sized, rehearse, and get the orientation too, buuuuuut yeah, pretty happy atm. Then the following evening i had my birthday party. WASMASGUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

VMA's this year really didn't shock me honestly, cause I knew all the big artists like Gaga, Perry, Beiber, Foo Fighters, etc were gonna win the awards and some of my favorites got nothing. Rise Against in my opinion should had won Best Video with a Message, because it has a strong message.
Also, who is Tyler, the Creator, yet any of the New Artist of the Year nominees?
Wow I sound like a hipster when I wrote this

To be fair, Firework and to a much stronger extent Born This Way had pretty much the same message.

How did firework win video of the year? It has THE most awkward special effect I've ever seen - those fireworks coming from her "heart" tits. If they had gotten rid of that effect and put the fireworks in the SKY or something, the video would have been so much better imo. /rant.
I also don't understand how All of the Lights didn't win anything (over freaking Bieber, no less), but I'm not going to complain about it much, mostly because I stopped caring about the VMA results about halfway through last night. -_-

The fact that the Foo Fighters won something means there's at least SOME degree of hope left for the music industry. But not much.

Think about it, it's MTV, the targeted audience abiut now its young teens/teens (13-17) and probably more then half are female. Do the math there.
Don't get me started when the MTV Movie Awards will happen *coughTwatlightcough*

Ehhh, I thought the video worked well, (katy perry fan) but nothing quite tops the whipped cream boob cannons in terms of awkwardness. Also weren't there fireworks in the sky as well? Or am I missing something o_O
I only caught the beginning of the VMAs. I loved Lady Gaga's performance at the opening. Most Intense. I thought Katy Perry's asian dress/umbrella thing was cute :3 probs because it reminded me of SMiLE.dk, but whatever the hell she wore when she accepted that award... eww.
I'm glad that Till The World Ends won best Pop Video since I always thought the song and vid were really exciting and energetic, what I like in a pop video. ^^
In a final note... What the flying fuck was Nicki Minaj wearing? Seriously, it looked like she was trying to rip off Ke$ha, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Britney Spears all at the same time.

Believe me, if Bieber is up for ANY award that is awarded by voting, he will win it. He has literally so many fans that will sit around all day and create duplicate accounts to follow him on Twitter (and make something regarding him trend), open multiple tabs to watch his videos on YouTube, and vote for him in online polls. The funniest part of it is that they may end up doing more damage to him than helping him. His fans are so notoriously annoying that so many people hate him based on them alone.
Firework is a cute video. You can see the concept of it coming a mile away, but it gets the job done. The only part I don't like is the pregnant lady giving birth with all the sparks shooting out of her. Creeeeepy. It was really between her and Adele and while Rolling in the Deep is a great song, it has a whatever video.
There were a lot of horrible outfits last night, but nothing quite reaches this level...

I actually missed the "Lady Gaga is a man" opening of the show. It was probably one of the better performances too :/. I didn't see the second half, but what I saw consisted of generic lip-synced pop stuff, Jessie J failing at singing (I mean she made Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Firework sound like shit. Katy Perry and Cyndi Lauper aren't exactly vocal gods
), and a surprisingly weak performance by Adele. I guess she's a case of sounding better in the studio than live, because her voice was lacking :/. It's a shame too, because she could've stolen the show...
Also I ignored all of the outfits because I couldn't care less.
