The Official DDR Accomplishments Thread (Read first post, NO STEPMANIA OR ITG)

Ikebukuro Sport was crowded after work today, not because of the new music games recently, but because some crowd had a birthday party there. They were shouting congrats and blasting music over the speakers so much I couldn't hear a damned thing, and I normally can't hear much of anything there so that is saying something. Anyways, two quick ones. When I can hear again I'll go back and get some more.

Very nice, Derek. I'm sure you'll breeze through everything in X3 when you have that over there (I know you got a brief chance to play it in Japan when you were here anyways but not much has changed since then)

I don't have much to add since I haven't had much of a chance to play. I had 1 great on this right on the first day I played it, got it on double the first time I tried it and then recently got this, but I did it again because I had a not-so-great MA (65p)...and only ended up doing marginally better on it again today anyways. Oh well.

Got out of work today and felt completely exhausted running around Tokyo filling in for missing staff on vacation, so what did I do? Go straight home and sleep off the cold I have like I should? No, I went and played some X3 and I'll probably be *real* sick tomorrow. My priorities are all out of whack in that department.

I've always had a little trouble with my MA on Wii games, I'm not sure why. Could it be because I'm playing with a Classic Controller Pro Pad (wireless) instead of a wired DDR pad? On the PS2 games it feels pretty accurate to the arcade windows (and I've obtained SDPs on both arcade and CS), but on the Wii it's terribly harsh, not game-breaking harsh, but I don't think anyone was asking for harsher MA windows anyways >_>.

Just AAA some songs on Extreme 2. I was so happy I got I need You (Insideout Door Mix) out of the way. The chaos in that chart is just messed up.

Yesterday I was down with the flu (really bad virus going around). I should be sleeping, and I did, though I went and unlocked another song and got the challenge charts to them, which was about all I could do given my physical state. At least it brought me to "leet" AAAs and an even 100 Oni single AAAs and 90 Oni double AAAs, so there is balance.

I'm never going to get a PFC. Well, I actually did get one PFC which was on Boom Boom Dollar. However, it was in the 2nd Mix course and I couldn't get a snapshot of the stats screen. For the screenshots, I'm the first player side. My brother sometimes joined in for a round, so you can see his score on the second player side.










On a brighter note, I updated my score on Amalgamation. Still not even close to what other people can do though. I also got 94.9% on Roppongi Evolved Ver. A if that means anything. I guess I'll AA it next time.



Also a quick question, is the DDR II timing window the same as DDR X3 Arcade? I tried a DDR wii game at my friend's house, and it almost felt like a really cushioned version of the arcade window. Even when we stepped completely off a note, we would still get a Perfect. Maybe it's just us being silly?

All the CS DDR games (at least the ones I've played) have wider timing windows than the arcade. I'm guessing it's to make up for the crappiness of most soft pads.

GET UP'N MOVE (2008 X-edit) is pretty fun with that 12ths.
Previously got 24p with some greats on Silent Hill.
I played Put 'Em Up rather meekly. I was so tired after playing 2 15s in a row continued by POSSESSION. It helped.
With SUPER EUROBEAT <GOLD MIX> done, all that's left is just resonance and DANCEMANIA stuff.
IF YOU WERE HERE is pretty odd with those 16th. And I particularly feel that it's a bit off.

SO IN LOVE is pretty hard with low BPM. And that 16th and 12th. Some 16ths should really be 12ths.
I like charts with rhythms like Share My Love. It's challenging and I'm glad it's done.

Went back to Ikebukuro after work and finished off the two Expert charts I never did last time. I find quite a few charts a bit deceptive in difficulty, especially the 10~13 range. The song is pretty straightforward and fine with nothing completely out of the ordinary and then all of a sudden there will be some pattern or section that seems to come out of nowhere or tried to throw you off. They aren't bad; I just usually don't see them coming the first time.

Are there still people in 1st world countries on PCs that use dial-up? I'm not trying to imply anything, but I figure that it is almost 2012 and apart from mobile connectivity, I would hope broadband access is at least available in most places by now.
