I think situations like these are why y'all are not in charge of moderating or handling strikes/bans.

Do you honestly think people would want to participate in discussions when part of the community is ready to demand a ban the second they do something even remotely wrong? You're blowing the situation out of proportion, at worst you'd hand out strikes and warnings for this, not an outright ban.

The problem is that this person has given multiple red flags that they might be a stealth troll, from posting outright gibberish at first, to screwing with their profile information. If VD isn't a troll, then I apologize, but you're definitely missing proper forum etiquette. See, imagine that you made a thread that you wanted participation in but no one ever really did, then months later you get a notification that someone posted in it, which might make you excited... except the post adds nothing of value. It's just "hi" or "this is cool" or whatever, and then probably there's a few more posts calling out this user, but nothing that actually adds to the thread you created, and disappointment sets in... That's why some people are getting unusually irritated.

That said, personally, I think Sigrev needs to tone down the bile and vitriol. I agree that VD might be overstaying their welcome at this point, but I don't think he needs to start implying that the mods are useless. And I don't think Axel or anyone else that is just saying "time for VD to go" is contributing anything to this topic either.

I hadn't thought about how I was acting like a troll here; I apologize for that. I'll do my best not to disappoint people by bumping their threads (or replying to them) with non-substantial content, and I'll stay away from needlessly editing my profile unless it's for a good reason.

I'm saying that this isn't like we're jumping on someone immediately for doing something stupid, we're jumping on someone for ignoring all warnings, going "nu sorry i will be good this time" and then just doing the same thing again.

The first time they posted a keysmash or necrobumped something to add nothing, fine, whatever. But despite everybody telling them to stop, mods themselves giving warnings, and even a strike being given, they still keep doing it.

It's really fucking bizzare to me that Mokou sees this as just bullying a new member or something. It's not. It's someone getting a warning, ignoring that warning, getting another warning, ignoring that warning, getting a strike, not caring about the strike, getting a third warning, and pretending they'll stop. Can you seriously blame anyone for thinking they need to get fucked?

It's hard to make a living out of but I hear if you make KAC finals or consistantly make top 8 in tournaments you're allowed to sexually assault people and get away with it, it's one of the perks

to be fair, if bmhedgehog - the notorious "homophobe and believer in christ" - wasn't banned for like several years, I think it makes sense that mods have held off on banning VD. just my opinion.

Well, once it was outed that he was a gigantic bigot and not just a moron who pissed everyone off, the banhammer swung down as fast as possible. So I guess you're right in that regard.

What I'd like to know is why you would repeatedly bump threads with nothing but "hi people" other insubstantial messages that not only add nothing to the discussion, but also annoy anyone reading them, despite being told not to do so several times. If you genuinely would like to start behaving and put all this behind you, as you have said, then I strongly suggest you take some time and ask yourself what satisfaction or pleasure you get out of doing that, and what your aim was when bumping threads. You have to understand why you're doing wrong before you can attempt to put a stop to it.

Perhaps, as a new user, you may have wanted to talk about an old topic but didn't know what to say. Let's take DJMAX RESPECT, for example, and you thought it was a cool game and whatnot. If you wanted to say the last update looks cool, you can talk about why you feel it's cool given all the facts and then ask what people think about it. That's the least you could do in one of these rhythm game threads. If you really needed a place for an outburst and wanted to talk about random things, you can look for the Let It Out thread. Please keep in mind that we also don't want just nonstop random spamming there, as it's a place to just share whatever is on your mind so you can leave it and move on, or get someone to understand whatever has been bothering you.
