DDR II & hottest party 5 (Wii) (International)

Ok, on the new VS old my thoughts are:

DYNAMITE RAVE vs DYNAMITE RAVE (2009) [DDR X AC / US]:
Old Version - I like the new version and everything, I really do, however, the original actually feels better to me even if it is OOOOOLD.
I mean, come on I first played DDR and this was over 10 years ago. Although, I failed played Afronova. But yeah I just can't explain why. I think it's just because the lyrics just feel energized to me.

Brilliant 2U vs Brilliant 2U (2010) [DDR Furu Furu Pary CS / JP]:
New Version - The lyrics are nice additions to the old song. I think they fit pretty darn well. It's not that the older version is "outdated" it's just it doesn't really feel right to me. I just never really like the original all that much. I liked it, it just wasn't a "Fave."

Now, not technically "Masters w/New Vocal Versions," I think these remixes are also part of the same group as the songs above:

B4U vs B4U (The Acolyte Mix) [HP1/Wii] - New version, old version just sounds plain weird to me. Others like it but I'm just kinda meh on it.

1998 vs 1998 (Sparky 2006) [HP1/Wii]:
Old Version - Oh man, this one is really hard for me because I love every version of this song, however I think that the original just has a bit more enthusiasm and energy compared to the newer remix. Now, the Be Rock U (1998 Burst Style) remix is just as awesome but that is really it's own separate thing since it's not only a remix but it's also a mash-up kinda like Back Into The Light ~Feelings Won't Fade Vocal Mix~ / Sota Fujimori although, in that case, it's "Lyrics of Remix + Music of remix = 2ndReMIX APPEND".

One of these days I'll compare all of NAOKI's Rave/Speed Rave songs and all of their remixes.

1stMIX APPEND: I'm just waiting for a redubbed version of Burnin' The Floor. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the original and Blue Fire Remix so I'm hoping he can keep the same action going on in that song (if he ever remakes it)

Unfortunately, Dynamite Rave (2009) isn't a master with new vocals, the melody is different as well. Speaking of Burnin' the Floor, they should seriously buy the license out for Momo Mix.

I enjoy when we get new versions of songs. It breaths new life into the old songs. However I don't like when the new version replaces the old ( I'm looking at you Dynamite rave). I would prefer them just to release a new remix instead of a new version with new lyrics. Like some people on here I beleieve that Brilliant 2 U is the only lyric change that I enjoyed.

Dude, it's such a safe bet that the HP characters are gone for the "new characters" advertised that all hope for them is kind of lost for this game. :/ We could like... bet money at this point.

As for the next game, who knows. Long as they keep the consoles consistent next time around...

The only thing I have against the new Dynamite Rave (besides that the old version was pretty cool) is I swear there are like 100 more "yeahs" in it. The other remade songs... were less cool than Dynamite Rave to begin with, so... hmm.

I agree with you. The orginal Dynamite rave was one of the most played songs on the older arcades. It had such power as a piece of music. It had very fun steps too. The heavy steps on the remake are nothing compared to the orginal.

Soo.. Which remakes are vastly better or worse to play than the originals?

I know it's probably because it was the first instance of "Oh shit we don't own the lyrics, re-record this song, quick!", and they had more time to work on it, but Breakdown and it's HP remake are the only instance I can think of where both the original and the remake have top-quality charts?

Well we got a songlist update last Firday so it would make sense. I'm senseing some x2 stuff and reveivals.

Edit: U1 liked someones comment "Revivals?" so more then likely....

It'll be cool if the song reveal list is seperated like, X2 song, next tab BEMANI crossovers, then last tabs, unlocks.

I also noticed they were fiddling around with the app yesterday as I tried to access it and none of the songs were playing. I checked back a couple hours later and it was working again but had changed the font size on the headers. Hopefully there's an update today!

If you think about it, There are 5 slots and the first one was 5 weeks from release. I'm thinking they will do 1 a week.

I think the new Brilliant 2U is much better than the original. oAo But on Dynamite Rave, I equally love both versions. To me, the original sounds more "epic" like, but the 2009 version sounds much cooler. And to be specific, I like the lady's part of the original, but the guy's part of the new version. Odd. D:

I can't wait till next week. This weeks reveal was epic, however it was kind of expected. I am glad to see all of those songs though. I hope that next week they reveal more new music and maybee some new remix and reveivals.
