Upgrade Kits? I thought it was only going to be available in brand new cab form..

I'm guessing upgrade kits will make the game retain a standard definition display, i.e. look like the PS2 version.

18,000$? That's not to bad. Kinda annoyed that it's pushed back to 09, but I was expecting that.

Also: SN2 first had it's location test around April and was released in August. That's around 4 months.

X's location test was in July, with a release in January, that's a 6 month stretch. That's a lot of time for input and upgrades.

I thought there was some announcement that it was coming out around the end of the year. I guess I'm wrong.

The real question is when they will hold the US/EU location tests.

SN2 held it's US location test in mid July. It was originally slated to be released in Japan just WEEKS after that, but was delayed by two weeks after the US location test. That's not a long time at all.

Here's what the timeline should be, in my view

JP location test in July (Two month timeline to add content and address concerns at the JP location test).

September location test in US. (Two month timeline to add content and address concerns at the JP location test)

November location test in EU. (One month timeline to add content and address concerns at the EU location test.

Final December location test in JP. (One month timeline to finalize the product and add content based on the final impressions of the Japanese players/also release an online survey for all regions at this time).

Release in January.

Hmm, found a dodgy photo of the fax that was sent to arcade operators recently on 2ch:



It's 2,079,000 yen (approx. $18955 / £10160) including tax, 1,980,000 yen without.

There'll be over 60 new songs, and I think it says there'll be old songs that'll be revived that many fans want ... but I'm not sure, I'm wishing we had a scan of the damn thing.

That's what SN2 promised in the beginning,and all they did was remove (9?) songs.

AC is January 2009.

CS (JP) is "this winter"

That certainly doesn't leave a lot of time for the unlock songs. Perhaps we'll have a near-full unlocked machine like with SN? Or maybe we'll get achievement based unlocks for songs, rather than just having to wait until IR/Zukin Wars is over.

Would they hold a final Japanese location test after the EU one? It seems a little out of place. I would imagine that they would just show the latest test location in the EU. unless they've done this before?

Remove (9?) songs? Better Afronova removed too because i don't like watch people who just only playing Afronova too much especially on so they must try new songs or else.

The 9 songs that were removed were from CLUB Version, and Jam Jam Reggae (AMD Mix). I wouldn't remove Afronova, especially since it's a popular (if overplayed song).

Minor thing here, but apparently the audience of ‘Arcade Amusement Gets Wired' EIF Seminar in London were able to take a look at DDR X (AC) and Jubeat.

DDR X ARC machine = 1,980,000 yen ??? Wow! That equal around Rp 10,980,000 on Indonesia + tax. I think Timezone Indonesia think twice to buy that DDR. (Very Expensive)
