I, like most people...buy the game to complete it and find out the new songs and the charts.
I don't go on and do these stupid challenges that are tedious and uncool.
You get 100% and you get NOTHING.

Strangely, I actually kinda LIKE Baila! Baila! Once you get past how obviously campy/cheezy the song is, it's rather catchy. Another on the "must die" list (came to me while listening to the radio the other day) is ICE ICE BABY. After U Can't Touch This, that song's chart was completely underwhelming (was that like an old-school 4 on ? I'm Alive had more steps than THAT! Funner ones, too.) Then, not only do they put a slightly uninteresting freeze-step sequence in the non-rap part... wtf, they LOOP IT and fade it out THERE?

Well, for having easy charts, Dream On Dreamer and Let's Get It Started were pretty addicitive, even if the cuts did leave one "hungry for more." And is it just me, or did the difficulty ratings get totally whacked? Sacred Oath and What Will Come Of Me are hella fun, but they're no 13's! Maybe high-level 11's, if that. Compared to say, Blind Justice if you will; an honest, solid 12'er. Even KIMONO/roppongi struck me more as 14s than anything else.

And while it's good to get the rest of the DDR X (JP) songs (and Dance Dance Revolution), I still think DDR X (JP) is a better option for that (save for DDR).

Know what I do see happening though? A little after "PS360's" DDR, I think we're gonna see DDR X3 (springtime, maybe?) with the rest of the HP3 songs, and other missing gems like CaptivAte -chikai-, Trickster and Suki Meko, L'amour et la Liberte (DJ Darwin & Silver Remix), the BRILLIANT 2U/CELEBRATE "NIGHT" remakes, probably along with the first "set" of X-Specials and MATSURI JAPAN (K.O.G.G3 MIX)*. The "other half" of the product. And maybe a "DDR Konamix 2" of sorts for the Wii. (And hopefully, HOPEFULLY, they'll have the sense to bundle the OG's with the X-Specials! Garbagey as half of those were...)

EDIT: Probably La Cucaracha and Danca de Yuka, too; now that I think about it. Maybe even the "Mexican Folk Music" version of LA BAMBA, too. Maybe even MAGIC DOOR if we're lucky!

*Since STILL IN MY HEART (MOMO MIX) was featured on Ultramix 4 already.

I liked Ice Ice Baby's steps on Standard, even though it took like 7 tries to clear the FC mission with the U/D columns swapped on pad. It had some cool twists in it like RUDURDUD, and it did a fun job of following the basic beat.

Exactly how do i unlock Dynamite Rave (air special) if not via DMM? Do I have to play a crapload of songs to unlock it? Also, whats up with the three versions of roppongi EVOLVED? When it first unlocks is it all three versions or do you have to work for it somehow?

This is not necessarily true. Maybe you have to get an A to get it in one try, because I didn't get it when I played it on Standard and did quite badly (I probably got a B or C).

I think Pie said it was a 7 song course. Roppongi evolved for all 7. One of them on Light, all three on Standard, all three on Expert. I think you get 50 lives and they carry over.

Its not worth it, those Full Marvelous Combo missions aren't appealing (at least not to any sane person), and the requirements for them are ridiculous (FMC Ubertreffen? HAHAHA!)

I haven't even touched DMM since the first day where I was streaming it on tinychat. :gosh:

No seriously = +1 timing that shit. It's not as hard as it sounds after that. Unless it's DEGRS or Pluto the First, anyways. And the up-down column swap (and the left-right ones) are cool! You just need to know how to deal with that. ;) Flip your dance pad or controller over. Play like normal. DONE.

EDIT: Oh yeah. Versions of roppongiEVOLVED! I may be wrong (or a little off on versions) here, but here's how I THINK it works (without edits, anyways):

Add together the numbers of the levels you've played; like if you've played a 9 and a 12, it would be 21. Divide that number by 3, and take the remainder:

0 = ver. A
1 = ver. B
2 = ver. C

It resets every new game, so Stage 1 will ALWAYS be ver. A.


You think those EVOLVED songs are cool, huh? Blatant ripoff, yargh! You shoulda seen SECOND MIX, where for the final stage, you didn't just get a slight edit of the same song, you got a totally different PARANOiA or TRIP MACHINE everytime you played! With it's own entire stepchart and atmosphere, even! Not like some hack-n-slash'd wannabes! Heck, you could even play one version with another version's steps by landing it in the Random Select! (/cranky jk rant)

No, the EVOLVED songs really ARE a cool spin on the formula. I love them. But really, it's the second-oldest trick in the DDR book!


Oh? Well, that does explain their absence, I suppose. Psh, they're still holding out WOOKIE WOOKIE and GOLDEN SKY, even. *grumbles*

WOOKIE WOOKIE, GOLDEN SKY are both licenses too. You need to able to differentiate between licenses and KONAMI originals properly.
