I operate an arcade in Northern Colorado and my stupid damn big walk-in giant crane game that I hate with a passion makes $4,000 a week on average.
Excuse me while I throw up the remains of lunch I had at Sheetz.

Poor DDR 2014, I never even got a chance to play it. After all that fucking drama, after everything would have been over, Konami fucks it all up. So to that, I say fuck Konami Right In the Pussy. FuckKonami for turning a blind eye to North American Fans. Most importantly fuck them hard. I hope they burn in Hell. I'm only going to get one chance this weekend, To experience Bemani at Arcade UFO, That will be my only chance. Way to go Konami, I might as well add them to the list of Game Companies not to buy games from.
You don't have to put seventeen-million spoilers on your posts just because you're swearing.
This is pretty shitty of Konami. I think they want everyone outside of Asia to get really fucking bored of them, because there's no way they could be pissing their fanbase off like this accidentally.

I-I-I fed the machine...I'll never play a redemption game ever again. Even at birthday parties.

Wow, this really sucks.
I mean, I never got the chance to play ANY new Bemani games or any other game besides DDR.
But I'm glad that PW endured long enough to help the western fanbase grow to what it is now.
1) Wonderful job Konami.
2) I agree that redemption games should be considered potential illegal child gambling games. At the least, make those games unable to give out tickets anymore. But that would ruin most arcade franchises everywhere
3) I am now even more grateful for that X2 machine nearby (kinda crappy US cab)
R.I.P PW. Thanks for everything.

The people that are hit hardest are the people that don't even have R1 locations in their country.
Wrong, and I need to make a distinction here:
The people that are hit the hardest are the people that don't have R1 locations in their country and have a non-R1 arcade nearby that had BEMANI games running on Programmed World.
I haven't lost a single thing for example. And I would imagine that the majority of western BEMANI fans do not live near (or at least within reasonable driving distance from) Sunnyvale Golfland or 8 on the Break or what have you.

This is sad news, but I'm still very thankful that the PW team put so much selfless work and time into this project, allowing us to enjoy the newer mixes. Lincle, fantasia, and X3 are still plenty of fun though.
Also, if anybody wants a dump of their high scores from PW-enabled DDR or IIDX, I'm scraping it now and will have the data available sometime within the next week. (I'm sure all of it will be backed up officially somewhere, but I don't want to risk it when I'm not 100% sure of the C&D scope.) PM me your 8-digit PW ID or your tag if you're interested.

I got to use programmed world at arcade UFO today. Played Pop'n music, and Beatmania. Mostly Pop'n music. I'm glad I got a chance to play, and I will treasure my E-Amusement card for as long as I live. Also, I've always thought of redemption games as a form of gambling the more I thought about it.

I was going to say something yesterday but had a computer issues and could not get on until now. Anyway let me say this...
I had a feeling this day was coming. I know no one wanted to believe it or ever thought it would happen but here we are. I'm happy for all of the work that PW did and made it so I could not only play IIDX, but get to play the newest versions of the game. I'm not angry at Konami or at the events that have happened but I am pretty bummed out about it. It's kind of hard to be mad at that we are losing something that lets be honest, we should not have had in the first place.
I get that people are very angry but I don't think this is the end of the Bemani fan base in the US. That's something I've really loved about this community. They most times than not find a way to have it possible for everyone to enjoy the games that people want to play and enjoy. I can't say what's going to happen next because I don't think anyone knows at this point and that's a valued reason to be worried and upset. I also think that's why there won't be a hurry to try to start another service like PW any time soon. I think there will be something that the US players can do to play IIDX again once the dust settles from this, but I don't know for sure.
Lastly, I'm happy that I was at least able to get good enough at IIDX to at least be able to play most songs on Normal, and honestly, that's as good as I wanted to get, and I think PW for giving me the needs to do that. PW shows just how powerful the Bemani community is outside Japan.
SA.YO.NA.RA. Programmed World. It was a hell of a run, it's just sad everything had to end so suddenly.

I want to thank everyone who helped develop and maintain Programmed World over the past few years. I've been fortunate to be able to play on PW connected machines and, even though I'm not that great at them, I really enjoyed playing those games.
BTW, Round 1's website has listed IIDX as an exclusive game in the United States which is maybe why they issued C&D to arcades that have PW. I'm not sure if this means they'll be launching e-amuse in the states or not. Only time will tell.

While I never got to play any PW-enabled Bemani game, I wholly appreciate what the team behind it did for those who otherwise would never get the chance to play DDR 2014, IIDX, pop'n etc. Thank you to all of you.
That being said, #fuckyoukonami

The question now is will PW cards work with the global eAmuse? I have a feeling they won't but that'd be really nice.

The only reason I'm a little leery about it is because they don't/didn't work with actual eAmuse so I don't know if Konami has plans to somehow integrate the PW cards.

Should we have a petition to bring the newer DDR arcades to North America again? We can work on getting the other Bemani series games in the future.
It's a stretch, but it can be our only solution.
