Warnings And Bans

I hope this is a valid question: How long does a reputation score have to be -100 or below in order to trigger a ban? More specifically, does the forum software automatically generate a ban the instant a user's rating falls to -100 or below, or does a human administrator have to review the situation?

P.S. I hope you'll excuse my violation of "It would be a good idea to quote what you are replying to in this case" as I'm not really continuing the previous discussion anyway. Why does Z-I-V explicitly state this guideline for posting on a new page when most other forums don't? (Does it have something to do with the fact that page length is not currently user-configurable here?)

And to answer your previous question, a rating of -100 equals to a ban.... as long as someone spots it. So yes, an administrator has to review the situation before banning the person.

I'm wondering myself what it was that Robo-Zukin did that irritated people. I didn't see anything unusually wrong with his posting.

In this case, you don't have anyone to quote about the issue anyway. The guideline is just stated as a tip, not something you have to follow or risk a warning. It's just there to make it so that people don't have to go back and forth between pages of a thread as much.

That was because that user was a reregister, and his posts were incoherent anyway. There are few users here, if any at all, who would just start bashing someone for no reason. The "slick attitude" there was ZIV's regular, deserved treatment of incoherent reregs.

I was doing laundry and a gain, I missed something: the banning of emma2113. I found it strange that I couldn't read her other three posts as I regularly check each new post on the forums, so I decided to look her up through the User list. Turns out that she/he/it made another account, emma2114, with the same avatar and added a signature claiming to be god.

I suggest that you ban that account along with an IP ban. We really don't need trolls that only troll with the sole intention of trolling the forums with their trolling behavior.

In the DDR SUX!!! thread, emma2113 admitted to being adh2008 shortly before it was deleted. I'm not sure if it's true or not though.

The IPs don't match, so I doubt it.

This one didn't have drama, it was just stupid. She made a long post in all caps and some 1337-speak where she said DDR sucks, insulted Al, and claimed that she was being such a rebel for not using proper grammar.

Also Al, you haven't updated the first page in a long time. We have to be up to date and know which names to look down our noses at while laughing at them without mercy!

That little "dramatic" event was very short-lived, but I logged on directly after all of those posts were made. It was kind of amusing at first, but it certainly was annoying. It wasn't as bad as the whole adh2008 anime thing though.

Let this be a lesson: Don't call Al a bastard (and if you do, at least spell it correctly! *facepalm*)

Al, you can also do a IP range (wildcard) ban like 1.127.127.*, so anything with IP beginning with 1.127.127.XXX will not get access to this site.. Useful if the IP shows a patterns...
