Popocatepetl / Fey
BPM: 161

This song brings me back to the days when my family lived down in Mexico for a year or so. My sister, whom I've had a close relationship ever since I could remember, was a Fey fanatic. She would always play her music around the house, especially this one song. At the time being, I hated the music she would play, but to be honest, she's always had an impact on my taste in music. I didn't appreciate the song at the time being, but we recently started listening to some old songs from when we lived there and I realized how good this song was. I thought it'd be cool to take a shot at stepping it.
I also added an AVI with DDR background videos for that nostalgic umph.

When I saw that the theme was about nostalgia, my mind instantly jumped to Collective Soul. They're one of a few bands that I've listened to ever since I really started listening to music, and 7even Year Itch was one of a few albums we had growing up that I played on repeat. Unfortunately I haven't seen Collective Soul live yet, but I will be changing that come this August! I struggled for a bit finding a good song, and I had it down to either Heavy, Gel, or Listen. I went with Listen as it seemed the most steppable of the three. The cut is a bit longer than I would've liked but whatever.

^ Yes it is!
It's up to Pandemonium X to give you access to the category though.

Kiss (When The Sun Don't Shine) (Eurobeat Mix) - Vengaboys

Well, this is my entry for the contest. It's been a long time without doing simfiles but today I was particularly excited about making something new and I found this contest. I spent the whole evening thinking what should I edit for my entry and suddenly I found a missing CD in my pc and I said "Yeah, this is the right one" When I was a child I thought this song was a love song and it was so sweet... until now that I looked up for the lyrics. This song reminds me when I was like 8 or 9 years old, when pop songs started to be interesting for me.. Ah, good old times.
P.S.: How/where do I vote? D:

Wow, that was fast
Vinylyarou, you now wait until this week's deadline - Monday 5:00 pm UST (3:00 pm Santiago time, I believe) - to vote for the simfiles.
The voting procedure is specified in the first post.

Oh, I thought you guys would mess with the voting system. But then again it's 1 file per person, right?

검은 고양이 네로 (Radio Edit feat.Alvin) / DJ HYO
BPM 140

2009 remix of a 1996 Korean cover* of a 1969 Japanese version** of an Italian children's song***.
*by TURBO, known as Black Cat in Pump It Up **known as Kuroneko no tango ***named Volevo un gatto nero [/research]
Listened to the Japanese version a lot in my early childhood, and played the Korean cover a few times in PIU.
Not to mention this remix's genre is something I was fond of when I started making simfiles back then at FFR, making it nostalgic on many levels to me. (Possibly more to you if you're Italian?)
Gotta say this was a really tough pick, I had my plans ruined thrice!
I considered stepping something from Ridge Racer, then an old Brazilian song, then a Crash Bandicoot track...
(Could have done them still, but I'm all for variety

This is one of the songs I'd keep playing when I started playing IIDX back in '07. Wish I could play it in the arcades though. This song has fun IIDX charts.
Tried to put the fun experience I had in these steps too. Enjoy!

BPM: 70-140
Length: 2:13

Nostalgic Part : Whenever I listened this song, I kept remembering times when I play DDRSN2 US Version on PS2. At that time, I always avoiding songs like EternuS, Fascination ~Eternal Love Mix~, and OUTER LIMITS. And nowadays, I fav them a lot. I really miss the time I played DDRSN2 on PS2.
Anyway, Enjoy my Simfile.

[CHAMBER POP]
Something For The Weekend // The Divine Comedy
128 BPM

Right, way back in the late 90s before I formulated a musical taste of my own, I used to have to listen to what my Mum wanted to listen to on the radio every day she dropped me off at school. Most of the time she'd buy a CD on her lunch break and we'd listen to that on the 15 minutes or so drive back in the afternoon. I guess I get a lot of my taste from her, as a lot of the music was pop and rock (this was about the time things like Stereophonics, Oasis and the Super Furry Animals were in their prime, and there was always a Queen or Bon Jovi album on standby in case the releases that week weren't much cop).
Anyway, my dad bought her for her birthday the Best Of album of a little-known band called The Divine Comedy. Now, they had a pretty big single out around then called National Express (I tried, but I can't cut that one right), and after this in track 2 was Something for the Weekend. It's been stuck in my head as a result of endless car journeys since September 1999, and thanks to that, I hope it'll get stuck in yours.
Incidentally I SERIOUSLY recommend getting A Secret History: The Best of the Divine Comedy if you can, it's a fantastic album and Neil Hannon is a songwriter who deserves FAR more credit than being known as the guy who wrote the theme tune to Father Ted.

BPM: 85-170

I was gonna step "Nothings Wrong With Me" from the Disney movie Pixel Perfect but I couldn't find a mp3 in 320kbps...
In 2009 when I was like 14 I was obsessed with Diverse System Bemani remixes. I planned on doing a whole bunch of simfiles of their songs, some I did make simfiles for, but there was a lot which I made graphics for and never did anything.
This is probably one of many of my favorite remixes from DS. I tried making the graphics for this similar to the graphics I made for this song years ago. However, I don't have the actual photos of the old graphics anymore to reference from, just this video from 2009.

BPM: 95

Well, this was a weird one to step (and to cut).
Graphics could be better, could be worse. They're probably fine, idk.
The nostalgic reasoning for me stepping it is in the simfile Other Information/Comments section.

In middle school, my family didn't get cable TV and so I didn't have access to MTV (all the kids at my school were really into MTV that year). Instead, I decided that I would listen to the radio for several hours each night so that, for once, I would understand all of the pop culture references that the cool kids were making...and hopefully I could join in and be cool too.
My plan to be cool that year didn't work, but I ended up hearing this great song dozens and dozens of times. Thanks for sharing these memories with me
