The chances of Chrom getting in the game now have fallen off a cliff. Glad to see that Ike is coming back, he was my 2nd main in Brawl (Behind Mr. Game & Watch). He looks like a flat out beast in this game.
You know, they might actually go with three Fire Emblem characters this time around just like what happened with Kirby and Star Fox in Brawl. As much as I can understand why Chrom's chances of getting in might've decreased, one thing to keep in mind is that Fire Emblem Awakening, his game, is still the best selling Fire Emblem game in history. Although they might be representing Awakening already with Arena Ferox in the 3DS, it would be pretty stupid to not have a character from the game join the Smash roster when considering Awakening's success. That is why an Awakening character like Chrom should still make the roster this time around.
It should also be noted that Roy and Ike were implemented into Melee and Brawl respectively because they were the newest princes from the newest Fire Emblem games at the time. If Sakurai decides to continue this pattern (which I have a feeling he will), then that also means Chrom still has a very good chance of being playable this time around.

Okay the roster has been updated. Well I've ultimately dropped King K. Rool and Meta Knight. Ike is now added. I'm still kind of holding out on some. At least now the roster is in a complete rectangle shape.

I definitely was not expecting her to be playable, but I'm glad she is. And while there is no trailer for them, the website also shows that Mii Fighters are playable as well.

I fail to see how Pac-Man was from "out of left field" when he was speculated to be included from the very moment we found out Namco was involved in the project.

just because Namco slaps their label and helps develop Smash Bros doesn't automatically make it painstakingly obvious that Pac-Man was going to be in it.

Namco always has to put references to their other properties in their games, especially their beloved Pac-Man. Also Namco-Bandai has clearly been focused on revitalizing the Pac-Man character with the new show and its related merchandise. It'd be out of left field if they didn't include him in Smash Bros.

One of the geniuses that's responsible for making *points to my icon* a reality in a hacked Smash Bros and it appears that Nintendo/Bandai-Namco threw that entire concept out the window.
The salt is definitely real in my end, but more power to all you Pac-Man fanatics, I guess.
