Went back to the WhirlyDome (on International Drive just before Wet 'n Wild heading toward Universal, or just past Wet 'n Wild heading away from it) this past weekend, and if you're looking for a DDR Extreme fix, the place is actually worthwhile to check out now!

The price got lowered to a dollar per play, max songs increased to 3, Joint Premium is enabled, and the machine is fully unlocked! Made the appropriate changes to the machine on the location page.

Oh cool, I'd been meaning to check that place out. If I make a run through the I-Drive locations next week (already planning on a DQ check-up) I'll try to throw up some pics. Sounds like Extreme the way it was meant to be played.

Not sure what you mean by pop art, but it doesn't have anything 'extra'. I also need to test the memory card slots at some point.

Also, beware the spring break crowds. Most places are gonna be packed.

I can bring a memory card when I go, but basically if you see the flashing orange text on the title screen or the extra screen on the attract loop, the slots work.

Anyone here been to Boardwalk Bowl as of late and play on the Pro 2 cabinet there??? Im in Tampa and do not feel like driving all that way without knowing if it actually works properly or not... (last time i went it didnt which was like a year+ ago)

You live in Tampa or are you just strolling around? As far as I know, Tampa Lanes and the Chuck E. Cheese (which is pretty much on the same street) have Pump It Up machines there, not sure the version (check the Arcad Locator for that) but they should be in working condition, I also know of a few bowling locations that have a PIU machine, but I haven't added those yet or updated them within the past year or so...

Being so close to Boardwalk Bowl...I probably just don't get that same urge you do about going to go play Pro2. Not being a fan of piu to begin with, I just don't really see it rewarding to play. The cab's pads are pretty good. The arcade though is literally not the most interesting place to be in, so maybe just going to go play Pro2 may not be the best idea (Technika is here too, but idk if you're into it).

Append: No lie, I have probably seen 2 people play it in the whole time I've lived here. and I go pretty frequently but to play pool.

As long as i know the pads are working again I can drive out there once in a blue moon to get my Pump Pro 2 fix.

I have no idea what you are talking about because they were alright yesterday.
I don't know what a perfect cab is like, but this had better pads than most ddr/itgs I have played.

Playing DDR at Dave & Buster's last night, some girl told me I was the best DDR player she'd ever seen. Obviously she doesn't see many people playing.

It's time to put DDR on the comeback in Orlando. We've got at least two actively-maintained machines (X2 at D&B, the Extreme at WhirlyDome).

I just added CoCo Key to the machine list.

It looks like a legit Extreme despite the Megamix marquee. A couple balky arrows, but by no means unplayable. It's not unlocked though. The attendants told me only Prime Time techs could get into the machine, and I had actually just missed them.

I Love DJMAX, obviously DDR, i like beatmania but i havent got the chance to play it in a long time, Rerave, I also love PIU, and basically all kind of music games that i dont remember right know lol

I took a long hiatus from dance games, but lately I've been craving to play again. Do music games still have a fairly decent presence in Orlando? I've checked out the arcade locations a bit, so I see there are still machines around, but I'm more curious about the social aspect of it. I used to play a lot of ITG2 at Magical Midway, and there were usually a decent amount of people coming out to play. I hear their machine is gone, though.

We have a few good places (D&B, Wackadoo's, Universal if you don't mind paying an arm, leg and firstborn child to get in), and many bad places (Magical Midway, Rocky's Replay).

ITG2 at Magical Midway's been gone for a year. They have the SN machine that is now hopelessly broken.

Like I said, I've been out of it for a while, lol. I played heavily at Magical Midway, and before that at Rocky's Replay for several years. Does that place even exist anymore? I tried to find their new location one day to no avail, so I ended up going over to Firkin and Kegler to play their machine, I forget if it was SN or Extreme. I'm thinking about getting a Disney Quest annual pass because a good friend of mine plays there quite a bit.

I'm just wondering if there's a decent amount of friendly people still playing, because that was one thing I enjoyed was making new friends and friendly competition. It's not as much fun to just go and play by myself. haha
