I will say that Wild rush comes to mind. Half the shit that was written for SN 1 was just bleh!
But Wild Rush wasn't written for SN1. It was written a good five years before anybody had HEARD of SN1.Post #122 · Posted at 2012-08-23 07:58:26am 12.8 years ago

Like Oni said, WILD RUSH is not from SN1. It came from DDR 4th Mix/Solo 2000.
However, I do believe that song (that includes ALL difficulties) has some kind of shady timing going on. I can't get a good PA going throughout the entire length.

I know, but it was the only thing I could think of at the moment. I just wish konami would let people write real note charts for their songs. I don't know why those guys think that cross overs and 8th note streams are the only way to write a note chart.

I came in here thinking "gee there must be a wide variety of songs people don't like for one reason or another" and see a borderline DDR/ITG war and lots of whining.
For recent mixes anyways, I'd go so far as to say the charts are tailored for the Asian market. Players want charts that are solved like a puzzle with bizarre rhythms and/or a challenge of precise timing (which is why there is a whole section of the fan base that only play light and standard songs to try and MFC them. Crossovers are plainly intuitive since they are so ingrained in the framework. Even players that don't score well at all can pull off the needed moves to execute turns and crossovers without difficulty. The RARW EVERYTHING SHOULD BE EXTREME difficulty argument only applies to a very minute fraction of the Asian fan base...very small. Charts that focus on stamina and foot speed don't appeal to the crowds here with very few exceptions. I'm not saying all ITG charts are focused on foot speed and stamina; just that this may be why there aren't more of them in DDR. As far as I'm concerned, the 19s and some of the 18s are just a fan service. Some players like Brosoni and Rin-Go and Takaske can AA these things but the majority of players just ignore the charts altogether.
Rarely in person do I see anyone play anything higher than a 15 and even then it is usually Max 300 or possibly one of the Roppongis. There are exceptions (I'm one of them) but for the general masses, which vastly outnumber the hardcore players that would play the hardest charts, they are there for someone else to play.
I didn't mind SN1 or the charts. I liked the charts on double even though they went a bit silly but at least they were trying something new.
I still stand by my opinion that Rescue Me Double is horrendous to try and step. You really can't pull it off without some really awkward positioning and stepping/turning.
EDIT> And to show I'm not just talking out my a$$ and saying it is terrible without even trying to learn new skills to cope with new challenges, I did PFC Rescue Me Double

All I have access to is a SN 1 machine and I sit there and wonder why am I playing such bad charts every week.
I hate playing charts that have no flow to them. Half the shit that was written for SN 1 was just bleh! These charts got so bad that I had no desire to play them ever again. Period!!!

So have you actually played the stuff they made for the recent CS releases?
I'd rather have SN stuff than the CS transplants song they have on X2 and X3. (though honestly some of X2's CS transplant isn't that bad flow-wise)
Try playing Private Eye or Take A Step Forward.
Hell, play SILVER DREAM.

I honestly really enjoy a lot of the traditionally "bad" charts like Leading Cyber
, End of the Century
, 大見解
/
, and so on. I like figuring out how to step them effectively, and it's kinda cool to "slide" on some of the steps, especially on Leading Cyber. Unfortunately, a lot of people in the American community seem to have this fear of "double stepping" (which translates to believing every single left foot should be followed by a right foot and vice versa.) I feel this kind of makes the step chart boring.
I also remember how when people were complaining about how stupid Chaos
was I was the first person around here to clear it. ;P
If you want a HILARIOUS chart, by the way, try El Ritmo Tropical
Double. At first I was like "wtf this chart is horrible" but when I tried it again it ended up feeling sort of what a number of Pump Freestyle charts make you do.

IMO, Leading Cyber
has a great chart. Chaos
is pretty good, too.

ouble has an awful chart.

Speaking of EL RITMO TROPICAL, I can't get over how repetitive the rhythm patterns get on Heavy on that song!

Agreed. I was always happy to see that pivot-stream part in the middle, but it's far too short, and totally surrounded by the randomness between steps and jumps. I'd give it 2 out of 5 bimbos.
LEADING CYBER/EotC/DAIKENKAI = I, on the other hand, found ways to successfully and consistently alternate-step those charts. That was fun. I'm also "that guy" around here that loves CHAOS

I don't really mind double-stepping either. Sure, it may feel more comfortable to not do it every now and then, but I still do it and can still clear the song (mainly because with certain charts I don't trust myself to be able to do a proper spin, so I just double step and get the arrows to the best of my ability).
Also, I consider Senses (Kaiju Remix)

Not only is it not a very good chart, it's also probably one of the laziest things that Konami has ever done.

That's because you don't know how to write a stepchart for beginning players.
That heavy chart has everything that a new player needs to know in order to play the more popular heavy charts. Jumps, Crossovers, Freeze patterns, Spins. It's only fault is that it's a copy of the original Senses and not one of its own to better suit the song. It's the perfect 6 footer.

That's understandable. But in my opinion, the fact that it's a blatant copy of the original Heavy chart of the original Senses, I think of it as one of the worst because there was nothing new done.

Lucky I only play in the arcades. Konomix ruined cs releases for me. The charts I've seen makes me glad I didn't invest in home releases. It's a generalization but not an unfounded one.

Konamix was entirely Konami Originals that ranged from songs and charts already seen from 1stMIX to 5thMIX. If I remember correctly, a few of the songs (as well as their charts) did make their debut in that game, but overall every chart was already an existing one from the arcade releases.
