Since it's a Windows application I guess this means no Mac playing as of yet, so I'm back to square one (second paragraph).

Beware posted up the source code earlier in this thread... basically there are a bunch of .diff files that need to be applied to the linux source code for SM 3.9 that convert it into the Beware version... from there you would be able to compile it for whatever platform you want.
However, I had a lot of trouble getting this to compile in an Windows 7 environment since the source files are designed for Win XP or Linux based compilers... I had to modify a lot of the code to be compatible with newer versions of Microsoft C++ Studio and even then after several nights of tweaking things and finally getting it to compile the resultant program was a bit buggy....
If you know of someone who is well versed in writing C/C++ programs for Mac then they should have everything they need to compile this for Mac... though for someone without any programming knowledge you would probably have a really hard time trying to make it work.

I know someone who may be able to do that, I'll ask him.

Anyone here have a working build of Beware's DDR Extreme for a Minimaid USB? I'm not good with rebuilding stuff via programming or even compiling. I mainly want the lights and input functions to work with my Minimaid USB that I recently got.

I don't know how the Minimaid gets it's light output but if it works with 3.9+ Redux then I would assume it latches on to the parallel output lights. If that's the case then the work I did for getting light output will translate into Minimaid support.
I'll shoot you a PM with files for you to test, we'll see if it will work with Minimaid.

this is an accurate simulation of ddr extreme arcade, based on stepmania, which is unpack and run (everything included. songs, bg videos, etc). it is a 650 MB download. This is also worth considering for anyone who
wants/needs an instant, good looking, dance game/simulation, with minimal hassle.

This is really awesome, thank you for your hard work!
I'm working on refurbishing a DDR Extreme machine without a working system board that's going into our living room and this will save me a lot of time and provide the original arcade experience.
I'm going with parallel port light control (thank you twistedsymphony!) and just received my parts from Mouser to do that portion - right after I finish installing new laminate on the cabinet and recap the monitor...

Does anyone like to play spying games?
Here's a simple one, what's going on in this screenshot?

NOTE:
I did not edit this in anyway.

171 BPM.
VERY GOOD!
When the sort system is used, sometimes the BPM switching can mix up.
EX)
If I land on END OF THE CENTURY, then press <+> simultaneously, the BPM display stays as 171BPM and will stay like that until another song is previewed.

Also, unrelated note.
Why not use the official ripped BGs?
DDR EXTREME AC:

beware's stepmania extreme:
/DYNAMITE%20RAVE%20(Down%20Bird%20SOTA%20Mix)-bg.png)
Or is the BG above this sentence really from the official AC version? Just wondering. :/

I can confirm that the top image is the one from DDR Extreme.
These files may help. I have extracted everything from the standard filesystem and provided both original and converted files. Some of the images didn't want to convert using the software I used; however, they should load fine using the Photoshop plugin or whatever.

How do you apply these directly to Beware's DDR Extreme??

You'd have to remove the files and put them into each song folder individually.

Any word on getting this working with TwistedSymphony's Parallel Port Light Outputs? I have everything running and I can verify that outputs turn on lights. The only thing missing is that nothing works while running Stepmania.
Anyone?

Hey beware, is there a way you can code the song wheel, just like the one in the console versions( DDRMAX, DDRMAX2, DDREXTREME, and DDR PARTY COLLECTION) when you select a song really fast?

I just downloaded it. Looks good. It need a few more errors redone but I understand how hard it is to maintain something that's worked really hard on.

I may be missing something really obvious, but how do you exit the program?

For the short way, Alt+F4.
For the long way, press scroll lock to access options, turn coin mode (whatever it's called) to "home". (I believe the build is at "free play" by default) Exit options then you're given the choice to exit.

Did the newer builds ever integrate Minimaid lights support? I'd like to update my install and that would be the main reason why.
