DDR II & hottest party 5 (Wii) (International)

People are so negative towards DDR now... Just look at the Facebook page. They just want licensed music from the arcade basically; why can't Konami put those in?

I feel like the characters from HP1/2 looked a lot more life-like in their movements than the X2 ported characters :/

As long the DDR handled by KONAMI USA first (Not by Japan first) , the licence will always blah .......

I believe most of the licenses are handled by the Japanese branch of Konami actually. I think it was different though a few years ago.

Pretty generic expert chart, what we've come to expect from American licenses.

Honestly though, I really hope we have good charts for the KOs. After DDR X2, I simply cannot go back to bad charts like HP2 and DDR 2010.

Also, Get Back Up! sounds pretty good. Couple that with Heartbreak and this mix is shaping up to be way better than DDR 2010 musically so far.

To be fair that chart is nowhere near as bad or as uninventive as 99% of the stuff from the previous mix. I still wouldnt play it purely because i think its a dull song. basically if they are the sort of licenses they are going for the games gonna be a flop over here in the UK , well it would be even if they had the best licenses in the world because no game stores ever seem to stock it now...

That's bad logic and you know it.

I swear the cut for In My Head is only about 70 seconds long.

Looks pretty good, assuming most of the songs have full versions and the stepcharts don't suck.

For the characters, does this mean that the Hottest Party characters won't appear in this game? I'm aware X2 characters quite well, since I have DDR S+, but would it be possible if the HP characters would just be unlockables or something like that?

So far we are not sure if the HP characters are in this game. Frankly, i am probably going to guess that they dropped most, if not ALL the HP characters (except for maybe Rina).

As for them being unlockables however...raises good questions >__>, but there could be two theories:

1) X2 characters are unlocked on the get go, you go through either Game Mode or a "Master Mode" (if they have it this year) to unlock more X2 characters and possibly some HP characters too.

2) X2 character "skins" available, go through Game Mode and/or Master Mode(?) to unlock more X2 characters and more X2/X3 skins.

^ You can choose either one, it really is a 50/50 on either.

Thanks for the welcoming. Those could be the reasons for unlocking them, but how I would put it is when you start a new game in DDR (Hottest Party 3 for example), it asks if you want to unlock all character outfits, songs, and/or stages. I could be wrong, but that's just how I predict on getting the HP characters. Rena might appear as one of the confirmed characters since she is in X2.

Oh right i forgot about that...i don't think they did this for DDR 2010 for the Wii, and if they didn't then it may not appear for this game either. You're probably going to have to go through the Game Mode or Master Mode to unlock everything for this game.

But the information that we have as of NOW is all we can go by, we won't know for sure if you can unlock all characters and "skins" right in the get-go or if you have to go through some unlock system for this game.

That's true. Since I have DDR 2010, I actually remember the game asking if I wanted to unlock songs or whatnot for DDR HP3, but instead, it was only shown to unlock for that game instead of DDR 2010. That's the reason why the characters only had two outfits, but the Miis still can be customized to their own outfits since HP2. This will be likely to be the same for DDR II, but I won't mind playing Master Mode or Game Mode since I like playing games where you have to acheive goal in order to unlock something.

What did the other Wii installments have for Master Modes/method of unlock?

HP1 didn't have a Master Mode (i think)
HP2 Didn't have one either
HP3 had this D.D.R. Tournament Mode
DDR 2010 had...something
DDR II, so far, doesn't seem to have one either.

DDR 2010 used the DDR POINTS system. (Wii)
DDR HOTTEST PARTY had GROOVE CIRCUIT MODE.
DDR HOTTEST PARTY 2 had ... something I forget the name of.

HP1 used Groove Circuit Mode.
HP2 used Groove Arena Mode.
HP3 used Tournament Mode, but songs could also be unlocked with DDR Points.
2010/hp4 used DDR Points only.

I wonder what next evolved song for DDR II.

Tokyo evolved , osaka evolved, Roppongi evolved, New York evovled , ??? evolved.

My prediction, name of country on USA. It could be Miami or Las Vegas ( oops... CSI too much... )
