Origin: finalfan2cwizGame Center Nickname: Ddrplaya
Gamestop has had that date on thier for awhile,

They have a reputation for just guessing on release dates. I wouldn't set that in stone tilll we hear an official release date.

Finally, new screens. Thanks for posting them. Digging U1's new costume. And the environments look very nice. One reminds me of Mini Ninjas.

Looking at the screenshots - What happened to the quality of the characters? They seem to have gotten a complete downgrade graphically from the last 3 games.

Many of the screenshots appear to be using Miis... is this what you're referring to? Miis always looked pretty bad. Tongue

I think he means the actual characters. The staff decided to give them a more "realistic" look, but instead they look even more creepy than what they used to look before.

"Never Gonna (pass) Trim"
The graphics for this one look absolutely terrible. The characters playing on the pads looks downright atrocious (never been a fan of the concept) and the backgrounds are relatively odd. But that's what you've come to expect from a Wii DDR game...hopefully the [sarcasm] console-exclusive [/sarcasm] music is good enough for me to buy the game this time around.

Wow, which ones in particular do you guys dislike? I think it looks alright. (At least as far as the Wii DDR games go)

I'd like to see a screenshot when they're not on bloody pads.

No, The graphics are all grainy and jagged now. In the first 3 games, they were smooth and looked way better than Wii graphics.

I wouldn't read too much into those preliminary screenshots. There is no way the new Wii DDR will be inferior in graphics.

They look pretty identical graphically, only the bottom one is a HD screenshot.

Precisely. HP3 was such a huge improvement compared to HP1 and HP2 so I'm expecting HP4 to be on-par, if not surpass what was seen in the last one.

Bump for speculation/conspiracy theory.

It seems like VD is the last unlock on DDR X2 AC. What if we end up getting missing unlocks, like MEI and other BEMANI Crossovers in DDR "Hottest Party 4"

The main difference that I can see right now is that like HP3, HP4 uses the flicker filter that HP1 and 2 didn't use. They sorta cheated with HP3's screenshots too, as there was no flicker filter applied to those as opposed to what you actually get with the retail game where it was on and it looked a lot like what HP4's screenshots look like now. The only real graphics difference that I'm noticing is that the characters are correctly proportioned now, and it also seems like the dancer number was cut from a max of 5 to a max of 3. The main reason I could see them wanting to have that filter around is so that when the game is played in widescreen it'll look a bit better. That was one of the good things about it in HP3, as HP1 and 2 lost some of their luster if they were played in widescreen.

Hopefully, they'll make it an option like it was on earlier PS2 games to either have it on or off as personally I prefer it off, though as I mentioned before I could understand why they'd do it.

We already knew about those three.

EDIT: Oh wait, we did on the PS3 version. So this cements the fact that it's very likely going to be a port. Hmm.

I know two of those three songs.
Two of those three songs are very good and I recognise the artist of the third.

EDIT:

Licenses
Animal / Ke$ha
Bad Romance / Lady GaGa
Battlefield / Jordin Sparks
Celebration / Kool & The Gang
crushcrushcrush / Paramore
Hey, Soul Sister / Train
I Got You / Leona Lewis
I'm Yours / Jason Mraz
Love Shack / The B-52's
My Life Would Suck Without You / Kelly Clarkson

Bolded are good, I mean REALLY good songs.

I'm jealous because I always wanted to step some of those myself. Battlefield by Jordin Sparks is one I began to do ages ago but I couldn't get the rhythm right; I'll be interested to see how Konami's take on it goes.

My main fear is that there will be few music videos and on-screen lyrics that would really enhance playing some of these songs.

Few music videos? After HP3? Doubtful.

Hey, Soul Sister is in? YES! Was not expecting that at all. Big Grin
Not surprised to see Jordin Sparks and Lady Gaga return. Celebration is a great choice, would've loved to see Ladies Night. Kelly Carkson doesn't surprise me either.

Thanks for sharing. Honestly, this is the first time I'm hearing of any of these. The latest fact sheet was the first time I saw a song get confirmed (which surprised me). Anyway, hoping to hear more new soon (perhaps during TGS?)

Well Ladies Night was in DDR Extreme USA CS, it was a cover, but it was there.
