Aegis, have you even tried those oni steps? They're practically deadly. Maybe the Tsugaru one can slide as a 9, but the Maximizer one is definitely a 10.

They're both 10s to me, Maximizer Oni is pretty hard! And Tsugaru has pretty hard streams with jumps everywhere!

Yeah, it's definitely a 10.
How about Why Not? That's rated a 10 on the new scale. Smells like an 11 to me.

Most of Why not is very simple, it's just like, two measures in the middle that could be a little troublesome. I always thought it was pretty easy for an 8, I suppose it could be an 11, but 10 is fitting too.

It's a solid 8 on the old scale. Shades of Grey, on the other hand, should've been a 7.

I thought it should have been a 6. Even though it's 170 bpm (Shades of Gray), the maximum stream length is 17 notes, but it's a very simple stream. The hardest one is the 9-note one later on in the song, and most of the song is straight quarter notes, if not just simple patterns.
Kind of a stupid chart if you ask me, but whatever. They could have come up with a much better chart (like many of their newer songs).

Why Not Single should be :
3 ,
4 ,
6 ,
8 (old rating)
4 ,
6 ,
9 ,
11 (X scale)
Both on SN2 and X still misrated.

I've thought about the songs in the Xbox series that had
charts, but no foot ratings. I personally would consider them to be:
Giudecca: Smells like 10-footer to me.
Desire (Comet remix): I'd call it a 9, it is pretty draining.
Grandolin: If this isn't a 10, it should be a very, VERY hard 9.
Stompin at the Gotham: Oh geez, I'm not so sure. I'd give that at least a 9. Maybe even a 10.
AM-3P (as DLC, it does have an
chart): Definitely a 9.
Ecstasy (just like AM-3P): Also a 9, I think.
Candy*: Another 9, as it's another drainer.
Kiss Me All Night Long: Yes, definitely a 9, and a hard one at that.
Hot Limit: And yet another hard 9.
Koibito: Solid 8 footer.
Return of the Toe Jam: 10-footer for sure.
Maximizer: This should also be a 10.
Treble, Bass and Attitude: Somewhat of a 9. Not a hard one though.
Tsugaru (Or-If-Is Mix): A 10, because with such an excessive amount of jumps, this one's way too mean to be a 9.
Anybody with me on all that?
I'm with you on all of this except Grandolin. Grandolin has you following the fiddle and piano throughout the song, similar to Concertino In Blue

Well, Grandolin has many sixteenth clusters altogether. I don't even know if I can pass it on pad. >_>
If it's a 9-footer, it's probably (on of) the hardest nine-footer(s) in history.

My biggest objection to the (current) rating system is that in almost every case, the shock arrow challenge counterparts for heavy charts (examples: Waiting 4U, Saber Wing, Dance Celebration) are rated the same as the regular heavy chart. If you're playing without the bar, dodging shock arrows amidst roughly the same stepchart makes it worthy of (one) more foot on the rating (Saber Wing
drains me a lot more than Saber Wing
, though both get me puffing a little.)
Another one I think of is Night In Motion's
chart, which could pass for a seven at the beginning, but the massive jump swarm at the end is enough to fail you easily, and someone who's working on getting 7s down would surely break their legs on that last part. On the new, I'd put it in at a 12 (but, jumps have never been my strong suit, so I suppose that's possibly my own idiosyncrasies talking.)
The final one that I think takes the cake is Horatio
on DDR X US. With shock arrows thrown on almost every beat, splitting up the drills into awkward 16th-8th-16th timing and momentarily blinding you every time you screw up, I'd say it deserved something much higher than a 16 for the sheer confusion of it.
On a side note, I think the new scale is better, since the roof has been raised so massively high since MAX.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLznShxxhBA
Wow, so that's an official
chart for Maximizer? Ack. Serious voltage there. I guess they decided they wanted something even harder than the Mission 100 chart in DDR Extreme US. I actually am capable of the mission chart, but that, I'm not so sure of.

Hmm, I agree with most of your points, except for Night of Motion. Sure, an 8 would be nice on the old scale, but I think a 12 is a bit too high on the new one. The jumps at the end aren't so daunting... I'd say an 11 at best.
And also, there's Vanity Angel. I question why that was rated an 8. Should have been a 9. And Breakdown was a 9, should have been an 8.
Maybe they accidentally swapped them. xD
EDIT: Who knew that Baby Baby Gimme Your Love
is a 7 on the new scale? Seems quite low. O_o I'd put it at an 8 maybe.
EDIT #2: So is Puzzle. I wonder why it's a 7 on the new scale... seems like a 9, rather than a 7. It's still pretty easy, though. And Chance and Dice should be a 10.

I disagree with that. The rating are actualy good.Maybe they accidentally swapped them. xD
Vanity is painfull to score, but it's not a 9 it's a 8.
Breakdown is more stamina drainning because of the 190bpm + double steps. Still "easier" to score than Vanity. But breakdown is a 9.

Wasn't Vanity Angel originally a 9 when it was on EuroMix 2?
Either way it's pretty damn tough for an 8. It's not really draining but it has a really awkward rhythm; same with L'amour et la liberte (sp?).

Well, they did make Vanity Angel a 12 on the new scale... I guess i'm happy about that.
I think they should make Breakdown an 11. That's only happened to one 9-footer (Paranoia Kcet).
And also, how about Justify My Love? Incredibly easy for a 9. And there's also Do You Remember Me. Too hard for an 8.

Justify My Love would probably be pretty tough for someone just coming off of 8's. It is pretty easy for a 9, but other than Witch Doctor, there aren't really any 8's with 16th streams like in Justify My Love.
Do You Remember Me is a solid 8 in my opinion; sure, it has some 16ths here and there, but they're in relatively easy patterns. I don't see people who play 8's having much trouble with it.

For a song with a 296 max combo and only two (semi) difficult parts, Justify My Love is a cakewalk for a 9. The rest is simple freeze patterns and (generally) 3 note streams.
Do You Remember Me is quicker, more brisk, and has more sixteenth note patterns with longer streams.
Just my two cents though.
