While we're speaking of the girl character... I've been following the manga for awhile and the main characters always tie in with the game names. So, it would make sense for her to be named Silver (and be a new acquaintance of Gold's). I wonder if there's a chance she's related to the original Silver, and therefore (by the manga storyline) Geovanni?

I can't recall where Larvitar can be found, but I do know that you need to use the Poke Radar for it. As for your team, you might need some defense to balance out all of that power on your side. If so, consider Umbreon, one of the Regis (Regirock, Regice, or Registeel) or maybe Aggron if you still want more power. A grass type might help out as well like Leafeon, Shiftry, Cacturne (really good in or out of a Sandstorm), Venusaur, Breloom (if you love fighting) or even Abomasnow just to put more ice in your freezer. I used Roserade before in an emulator for Diamond..but geez..Flying and Fire can easily wipe him out..for Abomasnow..double weakness too..considering it is a Grass/Ice type..Fire can also have a very effective damage on it
Cacturne is nice..i've been using it on Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald series..interested on Leafeon hehehe
for Spiritomb..the problem for Pearl is you can only get it if you capture a number of flags from Secret Bases..and unfortunately i'm no from the states and only a few people I know of play it here in our country..=(
update on Shinies..i got a Gold Geodude after 42 chains and Red Absol after 35 chains.. i really love the Poke Radar hehehe

LUCKY! I have had no luck whatsoever catching shinies. My highest chain is 35 or 36 of a Nosepass IIRCpatience indeed is a virtue

I used to love pokemon back in the day (who didn't? lol), but I didn't really followed it after Gold/Silver. The other day I went to buy some clothes and I saw pokemon shirts in the kids section, and I couldn't recognize any of the pokemon in the shirts (except Pikachu of course). Sad.

I hate how they slap Pikachu on just about every product related to pokemon. I remember back when pikachu was fat. HE was shown as a fat rat in the red/blue/yellow versions and in the first 50 or so episodes of pokemon.
