when i make banners, i use 3 programs:
Microsoft Picture It! - the program i use to design banner itself
GIMPshop - the program i use to re size the banner to 256 by 80 without damaging the banner quality (the Picture It! program doubles the image size automatically for some reason so I always have to re size it after making a banner)
Paint - to do some touch up after the banner is made

those are the programs i use and they give a good result
this banner below is my DDR banner version of Liquid Moon. What do you think?

this banner was difficult to make because i did not have the correct font for the artist. so i had to find the closest font and edit it in paint to make it more accurate

Thanks for the crits Yeah, it may be small, but I wanted to convey that the song itself isn't really intense and I think using the small text helps show that.

Nice work, Chew. Having the backdrop purple for CANDY* (Planet Remix) makes it a bit hard to see the title, though.
