Best DDR Chart Tournament Redux

Only bringing this up because it's not the first time I've noticed someone say they don't know X song or chart. It looks like there are videos of each chart linked in the first post of each round so just in case people haven't seen them, just scroll back to the start of the round and have a look!

A round where every chart is good AND interesting? Never thought I'd see the day. All of these charts are great, and really the only reason why I left out Dadada is because those switches are the kind of tech I like more in theory than execution.

Also !!!IMPORTANT NOTE!!!. I gave Hypertwist an extra point solely to advance it in Challonge's bracket system. WHEN WE GET TO IT IN THE TOP 16, that round will be a three way runoff between HyperTwist, Perditus, and a third song. All ties will work in a similar way for the sake of time.

Conga looks kinda fun though admittedly I have not been able to try this or Concertino in Blue on foot. The snappiness of the lyrics goes very well with evoking motion and is not too fast so the crossovers look to work pretty well.

打打打打打打打打打打 is a chart that makes me laugh and is actually much more reasonable to do than it seems at first glance. The footswitches are a little mean being on left and right, but the spacing between them gives plenty of time to setup for each stream and try out different foot placements on the panels. Otherwise it is a kinda fun streamy song, but opinions will probably be mostly influenced by opinions on footswitches.

ホーンテッド★メイドランチ I do not really feel is special in many ways other than for having such a large break 80% of the way through the chart.

Concertino in Blue I feel iffy about. The bpm wanders a bit too much for me in ways that may be good musically but are perhaps questionable in a DDR chart. The patterning is fine. There is also the issue of this being "pad DLC" that I have a hard time not holding against it as it is pretty much irrelevant until people can actually play it (whether fair or not, availability has not be mentioned in the rules for voting. I do not think it would change my vote this round either way but I feel like being open about it).

Reviews from worst to best :

Haunted maid lunch : Not so bad but lacks a lot personality compared to the 3 others charts that we have there.

Dadadadadadadadadada : Some nice rythms and simple moves but those jacks... we have already enough stupid charts with that kind of steps why ruin a decent chart with that ? Also, you can make the joke once but when it's more than 5 times during the chart that's a bit much.

Concertino in Blue : It's hard to do a 12 chart with that kind of song. For the most part it's fun : skittles and some fun rythms. The bpm changes especially at the end are annoying but that's because of the song.

Conga : This chart alone made me question Konami management with their arcade franchise.
DDR Universe 3 came in 2008, we're in the SuperNova2 era (for the "lucky" ones, i was on SN1 still) and this chart has a complete different flavour from what DDR made taste us back then.
This was a real 10 rated chart that didn't use bpm gimmicks, didn't used random music noises, didn't had garbage arrows to trip you up. Compare this to Felm, Unreal, Pluto Relinquish... those charts (and songs) aren't fun.
Conga chart goes with the music really really well and all those moves/crossovers flows perfectly into each other (no random doublesteping). It's fun, it's challenging, it's what i want to see at the arcade.
It never came out on arcade and if it did on SN1-SN2 we would get a bland expert 7 chart like they did quite often at that point in time.
I later knew that Dukamok (a famous ddr/itg player) worked on that game and might have made that chart. So it made sense why it was so much better than what we had. I throught this would be a trend but then we got DDR X and the X-Specials... >.>
I have to give this chart +5.

I agree, this is a chart like no other, if Conga were in any other ddr game besides Universe 3, it would be a simple 7 or even an 8, (12/13 on X-scale) or even be an over-charted mess with a 16/17 rating, with modern Konami standards.

I like how the new chart for Concertino In Blue pays homage to Dukamok's step-chart with proper triplets. Shame they didn't include the beginning segment, but they at least kept everything the same for the most part.

I'm sorry I just had to get that off my chest, also while some parts of the chart are fun, I don't understand the triplet jackhammers.

Don't have much to say about Haunted Maid Lunch. It's an alright chart. Nothing special though.
