"five minute white boy challenge"

Did you all know that the "new" version of Dynamite Rave has officially been in the game longer than the original?

Isn't that upsetting aha.

This fact wounds me internally. Christ.

Dynamite rave will always be in my top 5 ddr songs. The remake killed it for me.

Dynamite Rave was one of the first songs I ever heard in DDR. It only makes its awful replacement that much harder for me to listen to.

Still better than the vocal version of Brilliant2U, though.

having never played the new one and forgetting what it sounds like, I feel blessed, but this fact is cursed and I wish I never knew this.

Why was the original replaced anyway? Remywiki says it's because of licensing issues, but I really don't understand this since the song should be owned by Konami. It's not even a regular license

Considering the lyrics were changed, I guess they did not own the rights to the lyrics.

I'm pretty sure Argie Phine's role in the song, in both lyrics and vocals, caused licensing issues. Since the original song was removed a decade after it was first introduced tells me there were contracting problems.

...aaand the article uses an old version of the banner that blatantly says "Location test open". Good job, editors. https://groups.tapatalk-cdn.com/smilies/57001/1536259073.3213-smiley.gif

I mean it's not like they don't know how to read japanese or something. But yeah they should've used a cleaner image without text, they probably thought it was a slogan

Okay so I know there's a difference in timing windows between DDR Extreme and DDR A, but it's caused by hardware polling. What about other mixes? I only ask because my scores are way, way worse on SN2 than on Ace. Like, getting 985k in just a couple attempts on Ace, but struggling to break 950k after 10 attempts in SN2.

I'm pretty sure it's still because of the hardware polling.

SN 2 had disgustingly tight timing windows as well. Marvelous timing is there, but it might as well not be there, if that makes any sense. So yeah. You're going to get slightly lower scores on SN 2 than Ace, which is the most forgiving DDR has been scoring-wise in a long ass time, if not ever.

It doesn't help that some songs in SN2 were just badly synced outright at the time.

So I got 3rd Mix for the PS1 a week or two ago. When I hit it like I usually do, it can give me a GOOD. How do I get used to the timing? Is there a technique?

You should be able to adjust the offset in the options menu.
