Weird, Glory's artist is shown in-game as kradness but in the video, it says "kradness x kors k".

Maaaan, I need to get back to living near a Round1 Arcade so baaaad...thoughts for now:
Favorites
EBIBARI EBIBARI HARDBASS FESTA
- ...I knew this was going to happen. Back when I saw the title/artist/genre, I knew. I...I think this makes me a bad person. But I can't help it, I'm a sucker for samples. And I've been doused in enough Japanese culture to find Nanahira endearing. So I'm SORRY.
花冠 feat.Aikapin
- It's pretty rare for a vocal track to make it to my top jams list, especially for beatmania (ignore that last pick), but I really like this one! Good beat and crazy scratches, and a fun character callback to boot. Also I'm pretty sure I have a crush on that adorable lion leader now
ミストレス・アンに花束を
- Sometimes easier songs just have better packages. The music and video really worked beautifully together here. I find it very difficult to be disappointed by a 猫叉Master song too, which helps.
L.F.O
- aran's music style seems like it wouldn't make for that dynamic of a track for a rhythm game, but that doesn't make me any less of a fan. It always turns out I shouldn't be worried about him anyways, because this track is bangin'. And I love it when they give nods to the generic videos throughout the ages, since those are actually pretty cool bits of visual design that get overlooked often. Because, you know, the players are kinda busy hittin' keys and spinning discs.
Problem Children
IDC feat.REVERBEE (Mo'Cuts Ver)
- This is kind of a love/hate relationship. Really, DJ Mass has been doing this to me for the past couple versions too. I think we've been wired from his earlier tracks to think that all the scratches are going to be part of a logically epic track, but now the Mass name is just equated to scratches and...I guess whatever he wants to do now. And it's not...bad, per se. But the fact that people are replaying this song upon release like it's the thing to beat first is kinda weird. Maybe we shouldn't force him to adapt to the world of trap we apparently now live in and just let him do his thing. Unless this is just how he does it now. Maybe we're the problem.
U.S.A.
- Not that the presence of licenses is a bad thing, because sometimes you just gotta--and I actually think doing in-house remixes of that sort of thing is a good take on it--uhhh, was this really how this was supposed to sound? I think "grating" is the best word I can think of here. I dunno, PHQUASE kinda overshadowed himself with that vocal setup. Off-topic, whatever happened to that You Can't Escape Me guy from BEMANI internet lore? How's he doin'?
Serious?
- I mentioned this earlier, but all the trap in here...how did this happen? I have few heavy opinions about most things, but it feels like trap is doing what dubstep did when everyone thought it was the new techno technique that everyone should copy--except where dubstep tries to fill all spaces with sound, trap is more the minimalistic version of this, focusing more on kicks and high-pitched synths. Yet I don't get instantly worn out by several dubstep songs in a row like I do with trap, mostly because there's less to listen to in trap. Trap always tries to sound cooler/harder than it technically is. Hurry Hurry is aaalmost in the same boat--the video helps in both cases, but the endings always feel like they fizzle out instead of building up to anything, simply because that's the nature of the genre. Is that fun, though? Even when the trap kick bit popped up in kors k's Wonderland, I thought they might've finally hit a creative wall in the series. Again though, they're adapting to what's popular in the mainstream, so I guess I can't blame them. And that doesn't stop any of the artists from being talented...I just wish their skills could be used more for the greater musical good.

Most “artists” that do trap end up making their songs all sound like one another. This is one of the main reasons why I only end up liking about 2-7 songs in each IIDX mix now. Too many of these contributors are doing the same shit.

^ Same goes for a lot of the Hardcore stuff if they're just phoning it in (with a few exceptions; Wonderland is one of them, and is my favorite new Kors K song since M4K3 1T B0UNC3).
LFO's pretty good, too (than again, I've yet to hear a bad Aran song)!
That being said, I think we can all agree that U.S.A. is trash. XD Well, this version of U.S.A, anyway. The original Joe Yellow version is fire.

So I wasn't keeping track of things and WAS NOT EXPECTING to see Rootage at my local Round 1 tonight!
I only played a few sets, but I'm really liking it so far. The song 龍王の霊廟(Mausoleum Of The Primal Dragon) really reminds me of the Zektbach stuff and that is ALWAYS WELCOME. Plus there's that version of Hot Limit which I think is kind of wonderful even if it's not John Desire. I'm not really used to the new speed mod settings, but I think it'll make the game more approachable which is a good thing.
And as a librarian, the whole book/data-storage theme speaks to me on a deep level.
I'm looking forward to spending more time with the game and really getting a feel for it in the future! So far it gets my stamp of approval!

Don't be sorry.
I'll be fair: I...actually really like the song too.
It's obviously not in my top 10, but still, I have listened to it more times than I would like to admit.

Tatsh left KONAMI due to health problems in 2007. He returned as a commissioned artist from 2010 to 2013. Whether an original song by him for a BEMANI game will appear depends on KONAMI's decision...

And also Tatsh has stated that he has already released Zenius-II-Mother on his album Tatsh Music Collection -I-, under the name 電脳旅行記(Travel of the Dynasty)(Go check it out, it's not on youtube but the album is pretty easy to find with a quick google search). I have heard it and it's a worthy successor to the first Zenius and as much as we would want it to be in IIDX, I doubt it's going to happen, but you never know. Thanks for clarifying about Tatsh BTW guys, didn't know it was a health issue. Here's a source link to album info:

As of version LDJ:A:B:A:2018112000, R∞tAge received new overlay animations, giving a major throwback to the previous beatmania IIDX games.
Original video by Renier Palma, from Philippine beatmania IIDX Players ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/phiidx/).

I don't care about a sequel to Zenius-I-Vanisher, but a sequel to Mei on the other hand.
