I'm not even going to bother.

I've added a Steam account, and will plan to buy Team Fortress 2 (part of The Orange Box) as a disc soon. I need to know if the Owner ID (or something like that) would also allow me to redownload the game regardless of where and how I bought it (like Blizzard's downloaders).

Well it depends; if you're buying this game second hand, then no. Other than that, as long as it contains a legitimate and unused CD-Key, you should be fine. The license to each game is also tethered to your account so you can download it on any computer you sign into Steam with (either using the CD or downloading the game from their servers).
Also, check out this thread to see a list of games and game mods you can get free of charge. Alien Swarm I found to be a pretty fun game (also, one of its achievements also gives you a hat in TF2 as well).

The Math teacher I have also has this idea that technology will be the key tool for learning. I know I am not the only one who prefers the old style pencil and paper learning. I've even seen myself that I perform better on class assignments than online assignments.
