And rightfully so. I made the worst impulse buy I have ever made.

Within a few weeks, I'm about to become a proud(?) owner of a Yamaha DT1 drum kit.

$599.99, with no room to put it.

I think that sounds like the start of a new thread. I think my worst impulse buy was my DSi XL (at full price) and also buying Super Scribblenauts the day before.

In the process of testing the pads for an arcade location, I ended up playing some sets on the SN2 they have there.

On my second try, I passed Captivate Chikai and got this score. It's too big, just click it.

I should note that I played it without using the bar, right up to the So Deep part and the ending. And maybe I should have, my lower back hurts for being hunched over (I was practically running in place), my throat is so dry and I can hardly breathe. Ice cream really hit the throat and helped me breathe a little better.

But then again, all my efforts could be wasted when someone asks for video proof.

P.S. The kid I was playing along with, highlighted Xepher as the next song. I screamed and highlighted Stars (Naoki's Remix) instead.

APPEND: I'd also like to present the quirkiest sight you've ever seen. For those who are members of the DDR Philippines Facebook group, you may have heard of the so-called Stepmania X2 machines. And I have just seen one in another arcade.

Yeah, bootlegs indeed. The song played is Asereje, I don't know if its the speedier version found on the DDRMAX 3 simfile pack, but we know one thing's for sure, it's illegal and could impact the distribution of DDR machines here.

Why? Just...Why?

Because not a lot of arcades want to fork over thousands of dollars for a brand new arcade machine when they could just get a 22" LCD monitor, computer, recycled arcade cabinet, metal arcade mats, and it would only cost them around $200 to $1,000, plus with SM they don't need to worry about "song limit" or "i want this song"...

It's cheap, illegal, and not right, but if it works for the arcade, they will do whatever they can to make it work.

Apparently, setting up a Stepmania X2 machine is cheaper (my old Celeron PC with 256 MB RAM and 16 MB VRAM ran sm just fine). The bad news is that this individual has successfully convinced at least one arcade operator to install these abominations on the arcades.

The irony: That same operator has bought genuine X2 upgrade parts for a DDR X in a branch I go to frequently.

I will be dropping by real soon since its so near to my school (lol). I wasn't able to play on it since the players have attracted a huge crowd and I was with someone eager to go home.

From the reports other people have posted, they seem to contain all the arcade DDR songs like Lupin the 3rd '78, Wonda, etc.
Wouldn't surprise me if they also have foonmix or Family Farce simfile packs.

So I had a party for my birthday a few days back and four of my friends gave me a 1400 Microsoft Points card. I already had 180 to start with so it brought the grand total to 5780 MSP. I felt like a kid in a candy store when browsing the Marketplace
With some of the points I decided to buy myself Super Street Fighter IV and I am quite content with the purchase. After adapting to Soul Calibur, getting into this game was much more easier when I first tried this game about a year and a half ago. I must say this game is very fun. Though I must admit a few characters are very bland/generic in personality.

On an unrelated note, I found a neat remix of Shiny World on YouTube.

The demo for the new Mortal Kombat game is out.

I gave it a try. It's not too bad, but I'm not spending $60 on the game. I'll wait until it's a greatest hits/discontinued.
