"Volume #1" was removed from the title, so now it's just DanceDanceRevolution. I don't think the "best-of compilation" was completely scrapped, though. There's still the DLC.

Some japanese sites reported that the next game Konami were working on was "just titled 'DDR' (as if it is the first volume in the series)". Someone translated that as being "Dance Dance Revolution (Volume 1)", and then everyone started assuming things, imagined what the game could be and re-reported the story on various sites, with various made-up details.

Ricky Martin i am a bit indifferent about, there are only a few good songs that he has put out that are "dancable", but Enrique Iglesias is still an nice pick for a latino artist =P

Wow! Konami is really doing great with the licenses this time! Guess they had an extra budget for licenses lol!

The person previously in charge of the american licenses died earlier this year, and Naoki took over. This game is obviously going to be a lot closer to Naoki's vision of what DDR should be, which is very different to Borenstein's previous vision.

Remember this is licenses shared across 3 games, so even if this set of licenses costs as much as the licenses and royalties for DDR X, Hottest Party and DDR Universe 3 put together, they'll still break even.

They sure will. Go NAOKI! I hope part of his vision includes online play.

Actually it's funny you should mention that song because it's one I've thought about possibly stepping at some point. I love the steady beat and Latin feeling. I actually thought that maybe Enrique would never be in DDR.





Must be from all the money they saved from cutting back in Dancing Stage releases. Normally it went into the staff Christmas party champagne budget but it looks like they're just having white wine this year instead...
