Well, that was somewhat disappointing news.

I mean, at least they aren't removing KO's, but I think it's safe to say Dancemania's finally dead for real this time.

I think what happened is that the licenses finally expired. I'm certain the anime licenses will also be removed when their licenses expire, too.

It's called "Time", and, rather unfortunately, it's a thing that licenses in general (not just musical ones, almost ANY kind of license) are very susceptible to.

Besides, all of the songs removed there were 1st-5th mix songs (which I don't particularly care for), but then again I might not be considered a casual player (I play 15-footers, mostly. I can't play on battery to save my life, though).

Well, this basically proves Only My Railgun is immortal. Also the two Broadjam songs (30 Lives and Til the Lonely's Gone), but that was somewhat of a given.

More EDM I guess?
Oh, and more Touhou because we definitely need more of those

Bah, could be worse. We could've gotten songs like TEARS, i feel, etc removed. Hopefully on the US version they will put in some American licenses, or else the US casuals will not be so interested. Knowing the location test back @ 2015, they may not.

And if you still think DDR is dead, then Dancemania is even more deader than DDR 2014. That shit is pretty much over

For the casual market, there were only 4 draws now gone:

Bad Girls (Donna Summer cover, pretty big hit)
Kung Fu Fighting (Iconic one hit wonder, even the Bus Stop remix was moderately popular)
Mickey Mouse March (Disney)
Poririzumu (Featured in Cars 2)

Really though, X2 was the last mix Americans would really care about for the licenses, with stuff like Ice Ice Baby and U Can't Touch This easily being the most popular songs to play.

Which is why X2 is considered to be the actually last good mix in my eyes. (X3 was OK, 2013/14 sucked ass execept for the bemani crossovers)

There's nothing that's preventing Konami from reviving another batch of old licenses.
Also, I'm more interested in that removal date. It seems like they're clearing the field for a big content update right before the US release.

They were back in the Euromix 1 days in Mablethorpe and those areas. Even if it was too hard for most of them to clear on basic/standard.
