Back on topic, I'm interested in what would the story mode would be like. I'm picturing something along the lines of "Emi vs. Rage in the ultimate dance-off...next on ESPN."

I think it would be quite strange just to repeat those two licenses. I hope/imagine that they will bring in more. What I would hope for is like a "best of" selection, one song from everyone of the major arcade mixes.

1st:Butterfly
2nd: Dub-I-Dub
3rd:?
4th:?

etc. etc.

Put that in with a couple from the Arcade X and a plethora of US exclusive licenses and it could make up for being SN2.5 (If it does end up being like that)

Also, I still wish they could bring back the best licenses, like So Deep, Waka Laka, etc.

So Deep doesn't even sound like a modern (stereotypical) "license", what without vocals. How hard could it be / how much could it cost to bring back So Deep?

I predict that the plot line of story mode will be that there's just some dancing competition or something, and the whole plot line will just be dance-offs with someone else. By different story lines, they probably just mean you'll get one different character than a different story line, because, last time you were playing them. I think the conversation will just be things like, "Let's get ready to dance!" or "You're going down!" Though the whole "Rage, I didn't you are selling takoyaki here too!" kinda disputes that...but I'd still love to be surprised with some fantastic features and story lines.
