Rumors are going around that Activision may close PlayStation Network Black Ops servers. I know Activision has been bad but this is going to damn far. That's if this rumor is true.

@Pyro: I had a funny occurrence with TF2 on the Mac too. I was playing on my sister's Macbook Pro and I found out I could use the four of my fingers to push the full screen window aside to see the desktop (I knew about it, but not with full screen applications that is).
I sent a message to someone on Steam and I couldn't get my TF2 window back.
Tried booting the game again and it said it was still running. SO... I tried shutting it off and it said I could not because my game is still running. I think I fixed it by just closing Steam.
You should of saw the look on my sister's face when I told her this story
I've always said it's hard to screw up a Mac, but apparently I'm an exception.
@Pandy: Is there a particular reason? I mean, if this were true, they'd be leaving so many of their fans in the dust and not to mention jeopardize their sales on their next installment. Hearing something like this sounds possible though.
My friend told me that at the release of Black Ops, Activism cut supplies for EB games (or GameStop) because they did not advertise enough. Those that preordered a special edition were forced to get a regular copy.

This pisses me off quite a bit too.
Well can't wait for modern warfare 360.

...but this IS insane though, i highly doubt they would pull a move such as this...
...and if they do, hell more reasons to get a 360 now, right?

Speaking of Black Ops, I don't like the fact that a DLC pack (First Strike) costs 1,200 Microsoft Points (equivalent to $15) and not 800 ($10), but the new Zombie map and the Berlin Wall better be worth the hassle.

The map pack has all-new maps, and no rehashes unlike Modern Warfare 2's. MW2's two map packs each had three new maps and two rehashes from CoD4, for 1200 MSP ($15)Post #12029 · Posted at 2011-01-20 05:31:04am 14.6 years ago

I'm wondering about the new Zombie map. Oh, and Exor, check your PM if you haven't done so. I was asking about the Gamertag a week ago and didn't get a reply yet.
On a side note, I'm practicing with bots for Team Deathmatch (I've only played Recruit level), but once I do get full connection for my Xbox, I'll make some notifications. I'm trying everything in my power to get Comcast High-Speed Internet Performance bundle.

Any particular reason why? Ive been using ubuntu for like a year now and havent even thought of going back to windows
Program stuff, mostly. Two points in particular.
1. Programs packaged with Ubuntu. They're okay for the most part, but I think it was when I tried to do something as simple as basic image editing (trying to add a circle, fer Chrissakes), the program that I used was gimpy as hell and wouldn't save in a somewhat normal file type like jpg or png. Sure, I could just download something else, but that brings me to my second point.
2. Installing new programs on Ubuntu. Everywhere you look, you see programs with compatibility requirements listed and they always include what versions of Windows they're compatible with, but they don't always list if they'll work on Ubuntu or not. Now I know from our Tinychat sessions (why the fuck don't we do these anymore) that Stepmania works fine for you, but that's one of many. There are quite a few programs I can think of that I'm concerned about. Off the top of my head, I know of several eroges, Xilisoft stuff (DVD-ripping and video-converting programs), and some program to help me study for when I test for promotion in a few months. I'm sure there's plenty more, but that's just what's swimming around in my head at the immediate moment.
Yeah, Ubuntu's nice and there's definitely some things I like that Windows doesn't provide that I know I'd miss if I put Windows back on my machine (I like the multiple workspaces particularly), but at the same time, I'm not 100% sure Ubuntu is for me.

1. thats strange. i never really had too much trouble with gimp (the one that usually comes with ubuntu). I was always able to save as jpg or png. WEIRD
2. Yeah thats something you gotta kinda work around with. Have you tried using wine at all? It works with a fair amount of windows applications. Hell I was able to get starcraft 2 running flawlessly with it.

I see what the problem is. I was using OpenOffice.org Drawing rather than Gimp. Once I'd made the changes I wanted to the picture, it gave me the choice to save in one of five different formats, all of them having somewhat horseshit-looking file extensions. However, I tried looking through my programs and couldn't find Gimp anywhere in there, yet I know I saw it listed as one of the features it came with when I first installed Ubuntu.
Time to hit up the Software Center.

No idea what wine is, and I imagine a Google search would just tell me what brand and year goes with what dish.

It's also a grape-based alcohol not too far off the composition of battery acid.
