There are? Hardest songs I know of in DDR compare pretty well against a lot of hard ITG stuff, but it's all still easier than Summer I think

It would also be cool if Konami introduced 20s the same way they introduced 9s and 10s. As Boss Songs at the end of the game. Imagine Japanese and American players having to spend months going through a Zukin War type event before even seeing a 20. And have it be the final challenge that unlocks everything.

Summer is a 13 mostly because of speed, so it would be 18 or 19 on DDRX.

I'll bet the 20 foot song will be like pluto relinquish, where it wont be available untill several months after the game comes out, and when it does, it'll only be for EES (or maybe just ES since we dont know if X has an EES). Then I'm guessing the Oni 20 foot chart itself would only be playable as the last song in the Boss Rush ver X course or whatever.

It would be cool if they somehow made a really high Enjoy level a requirement for getting it as well, so that people have to do some long term work for it, like AeronPrometheus said.

Maybe a 20 footer will consist of something like a "pack" of some of the hardest songs from all the past DDR versions (ex. the Maxes, Plutos, Fascinations, Paranoias, Trip Machines, etc.) Something like what they had on DDR Ultramix, I think it was, where they had what I think were "Power Packs." That would kinda make sense as DDR X is celebrating the 10 years of DDR. It could be like a potpourri of songs ;-D

I kind all ready imagine someone playing FELM, Chaos, PR, and Maxx 300 on the same song, being quite lengthy, non-stop and 600+ steps Shocked

The thing is, you are forgetting one simple fact.

Shock Arrows > Mines

They cause stealth. That's the biggest problem. Just imagine doing something like PSM Challenge with shock arrows. Messing up means that you'll most likely fail after hitting just one shock arrow because you don't know what arrows are coming up next at blazing speed.

A 20 COULD be a 20 without shock arrows but it would have drastic BPM changes, stops, and the bass on the song could distort your heartbeat and kill you (Pluto Relinquish anyone?).

I think I'll just stick to 10's (the new 7's yeah?). 20's don't sound like they are worth the heart trauma in order to pass them.

summer is only about foot speed, and isnt really that hard until the ending. when you look at what you have to do, PRO and PHO are harder than summer. PRO because the end run is faster and has crossovers, and PHO because of the slowdown(my fingers can do it on SM, but my feet are retarded there) and the jumps in the crossovers at the end. you can also argue that FELMO is harder if you suck at jumps.

the majority of top ITG players seem to feel that summer expert should have been a 12, and the majority of people i have seen argue that the hardest DDR songs would be 13 in ITG. i think that says it all.

anyway, i think that a 20 will look something like the ending of PRO all the way through, with slowdowns and shock arrows. there isnt much else they can do to hit that point.

Why is everybody saying "The only way they can hit 20 is by throwing in shock arrows and bpm gimmicks."? The other way to make it a 20 is to force you to move even faster than an 18 or 19 requires. 8ths at 450, say. Put in some streams like that, and it could be a 20 without shock arrows or other crap gimmicks.
Oh, and to the person who says something that like wouldn't be passable, look at the 14s and 15s on groovestats that require a similar speed, and notice that with few exceptions, they've all been passed.

Boss songs on 5 different groove radar special are good idea. Boss songs can be very Voltage (Voltage special), High Stream (Stream special), Ultra Confusing (Chaos special), Freeze Killer (Freeze special) or Jump killer (Air special). And all of them rated at least 15 or more.

I think a 20-footer song that requires mad speed and super stamina is a given. It would be interesting for DDRX to have a 20-footer CHAOS-type song.

Actually, that could be a 19 or 20 without the shock arrows. And with the recent boss charts in mind, that's exactly the kind of step jump filled crap we'd get. If I ever feel like playing something that heavy on pointless jumps, I'll turn on the "Stomp" modifier.
