So first, it gets delayed beyond reason, and then they give us US licences? WHAT THE HELL, KONAMI? |
I'd much rather have 10 exclusive licences and 10 US crossovers than just 10 altogether. Also a lot of the US licences are perfectly suitable for Dancing Stage, the only thing that really bothers me is that Konami have delayed it when they appear to be reusing some of the licences they have already made. Also this is the closest we will get to SN2 AC so having a few licences featured in the arcade version might not be a bad thing. I know I personally would have loved some of the licences from Dancing Stage SuperNOVA AC to have been in Dancing Stage SuperNOVA CS.

Yes, but would Konami really give us 10 exclusive licences? And I would have loved to see licences from SN NA CS. Do You Want To, Battle Without Honor or Humanity, even Let's Dance? But no, there'll be no chance now. Guessing 10 licences as usual, and the 6 new ones will be painfully average.

If the >70 songs statement on Sony's site is true. We are expecting 13+ more licenses.

Dancing StageTM SuperNOVA 2 The world's most popular dancing game is back and it's worth breaking out the dance mat. Dancing Stage SuperNOVA 2 provides everything the series is famed for: tonnes of songs and game modes, as well as difficulty levels that range from gentle foot tapping to dances so fast your feet will be a blur. Workout Mode makes a return, encouraging you to work up a sweat to one of over 70 songs, as does EyeToy support, which introduces hand movements to routines. Dancing Stage SuperNOVA 2 follows in Konami's tradition of creating accessible rhythm games that offer simple gameplay for beginners and a genuine challenge for veterans. It's as much fun to play as its predecessors and perfect to bring out at a party. |

Or they take a leaf out of Hottest Party's book and give us 70. Or 69, just to be stingy.

Hottest Party had 70 songs? Surely you mean 50?

They said more than 50. They gave us exactly 50. And don't get me started on the Edit Mode fiasco.

I'll get another e-mail to them next week asking for more info and about that. Hopefully he'll reply to this one.
The UK AC dept. is excellent to replying, but the CS dept. isn't so much.

Then what did you mean when you said Hottest Party had 70? Or was that just a typo?

(Oops... didn't know why I quoted that at first! >_<)
As I've said, Edit Mode is no major loss to me and I knew by default to take all those screenshots and info showing it with a large pinch of salt.
Now mainstream Dancing Stage on the PS2 has hit the ~70 mark I don't see it going down low again unless Konami truly loose their minds. Even with the lack of licences SuperNOVA CS still had quite an impressive songlist.

Yeah, I thought that SN CS was worth the wait (well, it was only a two months delay). This just takes the pish somewhat. And I was talking about SN2 when I said about 'over 70 songs'. Why couldn't we have an Unleashed 3 length tracklist? Yeah, there were only 73 songs offline, but when you add on the DLC, the song total hits 150 (73 offline, 77 online from the USPs from ULT1-3). If the XBox can manage that, I'm sure the PS2 could manage 100 songs, especially if videos aren't needed for the majority of the songs.

Right, well the way Oni put it it sounded like he was saying Hottest Party had 70 as he didn't mention SN specifically in his original post.
Anyway, the problem is Oni that originally we Europeans simply got the shove when it came to large songlists originally. The PS1 versions bar Party Edition was typically average and the switch to PS2 didn't force Konami to put in much extra effort and our versions always do seem to be generally inferior to the US and JAP ones. Things have gradually improved over time but now that the PS2 is supposedly last gen and has no support for DLC I think ~70 songs is all we can expect anyway. It's just not profitable for Konami to push the limits of the PS2 any further, especially when 360 and PS3 will allow them to provide the same average songlists on the media and extra profitable DLC.

Urgh, DDR/DS really doesn't need to go next gen IMHO the last thing we need is to pay for songs via DLC.
More trivia, Cara Mia made #1 in the charts in Sweden; good choice too.

Ah, it was in Melodifestivalen. OK, that warrants greatness. And now I've heard it, hey, I like it. It's good that they put in a song that the UK haven't heard of. Now, Change the World by Max Alto. Make it happen, Konami.

You know of Melodifestivalen?? Yes i'm a fan of it. Btw, Cara mia's foot rating is 1, 3, 5, 7 on single play. I saw it on one of the screenshots.

I saw the screenshot too.
Who agrees with me that the licenses will probably be the same as US SN2 PS2 and might get most of the SN2 songs?
If it never happens I am not happy. Because we never get nice things only Japan does.
Except for europe released supernova first. Not on PS2 but on AC.

Yeah, maybe the licensed songs much like DDR SN2 USA PS2, but Europe Konami still stinks. Why they removed Angelus, Unbelievable? Why Europe Konami never want that songs or Japanese DDR Licensed appear on home version DS? Is it too hard to put DanceMania or Avex licensed? Or Europe Konami think European gamer not interested with original soundtrack from Inuyasha season 6 (Angelus) from Hitomi Shimatani, Stealth from DAISUKE ASAKURA, ME AGAINST THE MUSIC from HELEN?

Yeah, why did Unbelievable not get comfirmed first? Isn't that a British song?
And for the bottom 3, I'd say no. 1) InuYasha isn't as popular in EU than in other regions, 2) no, the EU wouldn't have heard of her, 2) EU don't care for covers.

So, European gamer will never heard or play or like any songs with Japanese voice like Angelus or something like that? They think japanese voices or BubbleGum songs like from JENNY ROM not enjoyable to hear ?For some European when they hear that songs maybe they will say " What a silly songs!" or " That songs so ridiculous!" or maybe " Blah! It's not my favourite!", is European gamer so far like that? What the favourites genre songs or artist for Europen gamer until now?
I don't understand. DanceMania actually have a lot of dance remix from European artist, but on their country why Europe Konami still refuse used any DanceMania licensed on home version DS but they still want put on Arcade DS?

No. It's just that the majority of people who play DDR here don't know what InuYasha is. Anyway, the most popular licences here are probably those by Kylie, Sugababes...and Cotton-Eye Joe.
