Dom, I want to hug you.

Osaka EVOLVED Heavy was perplexing for me, cause I always thought there could be so much more done with it, but then I wondered if that would be overstepping. An overly difficult chart just wouldn't match the way the song flows, yet sometimes the steps feel like they're missing something. I'm not sure what to make of New York EVOLVED; I never much cared for it, but I think the difficulty is about where it should be. I could definitely see it being harder, just not sure what it would look like.

I have an idea as to both of them however, everytime I get ready to make the edits, I forget how I was going to do them Blushing

Also to carry over the opinion debate from the DDR AC thread, or whatever it is now, I think Max 300 and Maxx Unlimited are pretty equal in difficulty as far as 15s go. Max 300 is harder for those who struggle with very consistent streaming, whereas Unlimited is more technical and requires more skill with timing jumps and the slowdowns with the galloping. One is only harder than the other based on what you perceive as being more difficult to do, so there's no definitive answer.

I'm sure someone will say im totally wrong about my max 300 vs Unlimited opinion, because that's how opinions work right?

actually no... you're not wrong at all
Max 300 is more of a Stamina based 15 while MAXX UNLIMITED is more of a Skill based 15
they're equal in difficulty (in my [slightly modified] opinion) because Max 300 has a lot of Stream while UNLIMITED has a lot of Jumps and freezes

I'm pretty sure it comes to MAXX UN having a former 600 max combo, compared to MAX 300's 573. Honestly, re-evaluating the series, I'd almost think MAX 300 is perfect barrier between 15-16. Anything harder than MAX 300 deserves a 16 rating.

I would actually consider Max 300 a middle 15. It may be streamy but there are no crossovers. The only hard part in the song imo is the death jacks. If they weren't there It would be an easy 15. Then again, this is coming from a former ITG player. Some one who has only played DDR would think differently, I suppose.

Not a boss song, but I think Ragganinja is a bit perplexing. With all honesty, it doesn't make much sense how it was rated a 5. I see it as a 6, maybe a 7 (old scale obviously).

What do you all think?

Wow 5.1.1 has some pretty funHeavycharts

Got around to playing some more 2013 songs, is anyone else getting a sort of ITG feel when it comes to 16th streams? I do like how they've been upping the ante as far as difficulty goes. Tongue

5.1.1. is kinda boring, but that's what you get for stepping an ambient song.

Not on the Double-Heavy chart tbh.

The ending has a 31-note 16th stream. Which is... quite awesome. I don't know what they were trying to do with that chart, tbh, but it's still pretty cool. Miles better than the Single-Heavy chart.

I DO have a question, though. Is that chart in DDR Party Collection? I know it's not in DDRMAX (US) because those doubles charts weren't created yet. I'd love to find out someday in case I end up getting that game.

5.1.1. doubles is in Party Collection. I can't think of anywhere else I would have played it at home.

Well it was EXTREME, it was suppose to be the last arcade so they weren't shy about doing crazy little things for the fans to laugh at. But I think for the most part they were good crazy little things. I personally enjoy the song as well as Be in my paradise for the exact same reason.

After it got the new charts, it appeared in Party Collection and DDR Festival. Other than that, it held onto the arcade roster for a couple more mixes then died out. I think was in the SuperNOVAs but not X.

I know for a fact it was in Supernova. Not sure about SN2, but it was DEFINITELY not in X. I only remember this because people on here were arguing what to rate the Heavy-S chart. I eventually settled upon a 9, but I think most people said 8 and 7.

It is interesting, actually. What would you rate it on the X-scale?

DROP OUT (FROM NONSTOP MEGAMIX) is a 13 on Double, so I'd call 5.1.1. Double/Heavy a hard 12 I guess.

Lol, I meant singles. But that's okay. I think I'd agree with that rating, along with Be In My Paradise D-Heavy being a 13.

I never cared for the Single/Heavy for 5.1.1. Glancing at it, I couldn't tell you what to X-rate it. There's so much white space in the arrow patterns.

Does anyone else think Paranoia Hades Standard is harder than Heavy? I tried both once, and the former has an extreme amount of jumps and I just gave up, while the latter just has a bunch of crossovers, a lot of which I bullshitted or ignored entire steps (but still passed because X2).

It's not just you.

Also yeah, I read the posts about 5.1.1. above, and instantly thought of Be In My Paradise, too. XD

Standard could be seen as harder if you really cant do jumps well, and it wouldn't be the first time a standard chart was considered harder than the expert chart. As for me, I see the expert as being harder because of the more consistent stream of notes and the crossovers.

Also, bullshitting/ignoring steps will obviously make a chart easier cause you aren't actually trying to hit every note at that point.
