I think if I didn't add battery, contestants probably wouldn't fail so much, but this wasn't made to be easy. I still think this isn't as hard as last years tournament. Quite personally, I think this is kind of easy. I've used mods a lot and POSSESSION is one of the easier heavy charts IMO.

Outsider Input: I think it's just people not being used to Brake, which I agree is not a hard mod to read, but for someone that never uses it, coupled with 1x it can be annoying.

I think it's be more smooth the difficulty increase if the song didn't change bpms and such. Brake is annoying enough for a lot of people, and throwing in half bpms and stops (with only 4 chances) is kinda pushing it for only the second round.

But that's just my take on it.

EDIT: by 4 chances I mean the lifebar haha. Not the number of attempts you have

True, but I didn't pick the song. Also, I was moderate with the mods. I almost added more but decided not to because that would've been way too hard not just for the first round but completely. Adding battery made it very hard, but i did not want the tournament to be too easy so that everyone could pass it. I will try not to be too harsh but I will not make it too easy either. Also, if I decide to do a round with a doubles chart instead of a singles chart the same situation will be met. Some people can't do doubles but some people can. I can't only do rounds with singles charts because I know some people can't pass doubles.

Failed. It's not so much brake that got me, because I'm used to adding mods when I play SM, it's 1x. I usually can't read slow stuff, and this is more of a problem now that we've introduced brake. I'm fine with the chart, it's one of my favorite s but still, the 185bpm 16th stream in the middle was it.

I tried practicing with brake on a few other songs before trying this one. Once I got the timing down with the jumps I guess I got into a groove for the rest of the song.

I recommend doing this. It's not cheating nor is it an unfair advantage because it is not the same chart as what is being selected and all players have the exact same amount of time and resources* to pass each round.

*By resources I mean SM 3.9, a provided simfile, and a keyboard.
