You have to have a qualifier round to cut it down to 16, or it'll become a mess of byes or 3-ways.

There's a reason every knockout tournament has 4, 8, 16, 32, 64 or 128 entrants.

Not really. If it's 20 then 1-4 rank will get byes. It's really not that complex. We might have to add another week but I think it could work. In less the majority of people in this have an issue with this idea.

If 4 people get byes, then week 2 will have 12 people, and you need to hand out 12 byes at some point, to get down to 4 players by the semi-final. That's 12 people who don't get to enter a certain round, when it would be easier to have 4 people drop out at the qualifier round.

Last years' tournament was run so smoothly. Now we have byes and you're taking away themes? :{

The best way I can think that involves byes is the top 10 get byes, remaining 10 have 5 matches, plus one highest-ranked loser. That leaves 16. Can't think of a better way sadly :/

In a weird numbered tournament, the ones who get byes are instantly through to the next round.

I think we will stay with 16. It worked last year and it's best not to fix what is not broken.

Last year I think we had 19 members and only 16 entered a file on the qualifier week, so if you uploaded something you got in. Pretty much the only way you don't make the cut is if you don't enter anything or your file flat out sucks.

Something a little different. Rather than create true to style Light and Standard charts, I used these slots to create easier alternatives to the Heavy chart, thus, Light and Standard are rated so much higher than normal charts in that category.
