Also, I'm totally trying to make a small European edit of this should you ever release it. "Marvellous" here we come!

This is something I intend to address. Maybe not on the initial release, but definitely afterwards.
Hey guys I found out their entire European AC roadmap for the next 5 years!
Dancing Stage Starlight (EU)
Dancing Stage Starlight 2 (EU)
-
DanceDanceRevolution XD (EU)
- Dedicab made by Betson
DanceDanceRevolution XDII (EU)
- Dedicab made by Betson (US Design)
- Upgrade kit XD --> XDII (Sucks balls)
You know I love you, right Silber? Please don't kill me!

just a question... How will the judgement be called? Marvelous-Perfect-Great-Good-Boo-Miss-OK-NG or you will change it?

No we're not going to change the judgements names. It's a DDR theme so we're not going to deviate from it by changing stuff like that.
@Sharibetsu: LOL!! nice.

You could make localized versions! French and Spanish come to mind and if someone wants to get risky katakana would be pretty cool for a Japanese version!

Yea true but those will have to wait quite a while until we get the final product down. Next thing you know, this theme will be installed in actual arcade machines. << wishful thinking...

If there are DDR X2 (CS) AC games I don't see why not.
Make it good enough and maybe Konami will hire you.
If Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, and other big companies
hire hackers, modders, and homebrew devs, why can't Konami?
I would totally take the JP version over the US/UK English one.
Jus sayin.

Your faces when the theme has all arcade-specific code intentionally written out of it.

My comment on a European edit wasn't supposed to trigger the developers to edit their plans. I was mostly just warning them that I might bastardise their work a bit after release with my "modifications", that's all.
I know some themers are purists when it comes to their work and hate people making ANY kind of change, no matter how minor.
I have to admit though, looking up videos of the 1st Remix theme, I do find it kind of exciting and nostalgic, if a little ancient in some aspects. It's currently battling this for the "best SM5 theme" I've seen. I think it only wins out so much at the moment on actual completion; I know that a lot of this theme is mostly ideas and mockups so far, but I have every confidence that the creators can realise much, if not all of it. I definitely prefer this one for not being purely about adaptive nostalgia and more a different/better take on Konami's own style though.
I'm quite attached to the SuperNOVA-era style of graphics and music wheel, but if I can get a theme that with all the song packs that looks half as good as this, then damn I'm totally all over that.
Also, if it isn't already, I wish it were possible to code songs so that under sorting you could have them sorted by game (like in the linked video) or even by other ways with their own section banners, such as genre and especially album. I'm sorry, but I envision DDR becoming a game where you buy each game with its licences and Konami Originals, and then are able to download DLC and later import the previous games when new ones are released, essentially building a DDR music catalogue on your harddrive.
So for example, you buy DDR STARLIGHT and it comes with Firework by Katy Perry, say, and later you buy California Gurls as DLC then the sorting options would allow you to see that under the generic auto-generated banner for Katy Perry under "Artist" sort and also under the Teenage Dream album in "Album" sort.
Sorry for the massive tangent, but stuff like this theme unfairly makes me fantasise and get a little creative. I apologise if it's a little out of place here, but I feel my ideas sort of fit given the theme creators own intent to adapt Konami's Replicant-D Action system. I know what I'm describing is essentially the love-child of DDR and Guitar Hero/Rock Band, but I kind of like it. Sue me.

No worries, Xavious. People posting their ideas is no problem because it can really help both of us along. When I was first creating this project, I was going to create a traditional songwheel version as well but the coverflow style is a nice touch and it allows me to be more creative with the background animations, IMO. As far as sorting the songs in that way, I think you'd need to let Aeron answer that one(I suck at the coding world).
I'm determined to make this entire theme as good as, if not better, than an arcade DDR experience and I know Aeron is with me on that too.

That's okay. My theming knowledge is terrible. I can just about fiddle with some stuff in 3.9. I don't even want to IMAGINE what LUA is like...
I'm mostly talking from a "game" standpoint. This theme gives me a lot of game ideas and inspiration, and to be honest I'm not sure how much, if any, could even be applied in the theming world, also taking into account if you'd even WANT to.
I know you are developing this as an arcade style theme, but I think that it could also work well in the home format. I mostly just want a really well-designed theme with which to build a music collection on. Most of my bat-shit ideas are just my music and rhythm game developer side coming through. I have a habit of blabbering when excited; just nod your head and ignore me.

Don't worry, we're doing exactly what we want to do and nothing more. But we welcome suggestions and comments on existing ideas as long as people are okay with the fact that they might be completely ignored!

As for changing the theme to suit you, I don't see a problem with making personal changes that won't be publicly redistributed.

STARLIGHT is going to be an arcade-like theme built specifically for home use.

I actually I have an idea for the theme that I have not seen anywhere else. Could you guys implement BGA Previews in the music wheel a la SingStar? It'd be cool if the preview faded in after one second, lasted the length of the samplemusic, faded away in the last second, then looped by fading in the clip back from the very beginning, showing some stuff missed the first time. As to where the preview would go, I'd take a page from SingStar and make it the width of the Album Art/banner, in the center. I seriously have not seen another theme for DDR do this, or at least right.

This could be done with AVI banners/album arts. AVI banners are supported even in 3.9, though I haven't really seen many simfiles use it outside of the Otaku's Dream Anime packs.

While the SingStar idea may not be fit for THIS theme I don't see anything wrong with the idea in general. In fact I'm sure I remember seeing at least one or two simfiles do this myself. One I think had the song and artists text fixed and the background animated, if I remember right. Another was literally an animated banner.
It's a pretty cool concept, but would be hard to integrate into SM without designing or tweaking simfiles to take advantage of it.
