Oh I see. I thought that was an euphemism for "stop talking and post achievements", my bad LOL.

Edit: Lucie, Prt Scrn is used to take a screenshot so you don't have to use your camera to take a picture of each score. It's typically on the right hand side of the keyboard. If you have a laptop keyboard, you may have to hold down the Fn key (Function key) then press the Prt Scrn button. You'll hear a sound if you've done it right (some themes replace this sound with something funny/cool).

Prnt Scrn?

?! Confused Question Mark

You hit Prnt Scrn in the result screen and it will take a screen shot of your stuff.
You go to screen shots folder and it will be there.

Oh, I know how to make screenshots, but I have to start OpenITG as Admin to be able to make some.
I start OpenITG only as Admin when I play on pad.
I don`t want my pad and my keyboardscores to be confused, so I do it like this...
I never really needed screenshots of my keyboard scores till now.
Oh, and there is no way to change the way it works...stupid Vista.
So...all cam pics = Keyboard highscore
All screenshots = Pad highscores
That`s how I used to do it from the beginning on.

Edit:
I know it`s stupid... but I really don`t want my keyboard scores and Pad scores to be confored.
So it`s like this: When I start ITG just with pressing on the start button there are my kesboard scores... but I can`t make screenshots...okay, I can make them... I even hear the screenshot sounnd, but it won`t save them.
And when I start ITG as Admin, there are my Pad scores and I make all the screenshorts you can find in the ITG accomplishments thread.
Big Grin
I really got used to it...
In the beginning it was annoying, but now I really like it the way it is.
So there is no way my scores can be confused!

Oh I see. That's fair enough, but wouldn't it be easier to use separate profiles instead? For pad play I use my memory card with a profile on it (DN_Training), for keyboard play I just use a local profile (DN_Keyboard). Pad scores I hit Select (with P1 Shift key is mapped to Select by default) to save the screenshot to the memory card, keyboard scores I just hit Prnt Scrn.

Oh, I already tried playing with memory card...
but...
after hours I found out how to make my ITG accepting the memory card...but...
It won`t save any scores... it`s just there and says "no name" I can type in a name after that round...but in the next round profile will be deleted...
I asked for help at my german community and on AIJ...
Problem is: Vista again...
it`s so stupid...
But as I said, I got used to it.
So I can separate my scores without memory card... and I really don`t bother making pics of my keyboard score with my cam.
As long keyboard and Pad scores are separated everything is fine Big Grin

Yeah, Vista is a right bastard with memory cards in ITG. -_- Gold Rush's OITG machine which runs Vista keeps crashing with memory cards, especially when browsing customs. Dunno whether it's Vista's overzealous security approach or just Vista being a plonker but I agree that it's dumb. At the moment it's not a problem Tongue but when you can play on pad again, maybe make two Local profiles? I can show you how if you want. (Y)

When I can play on Pad again I`ll just start OITG as admin as I did before... then I can make screenshots again Smile
Oooh, I miss my Pad sooooo much!!!!!
And it`s just one week without...I`ll maybe have to go one half year without!!!

I've been 2-3 months without pad play, the transition back into your old skillset can be quite rough haha. Also fun fact, I've quit myself, not out of rage, but because my pads are being so stupid they're nearly unplayable, so now I'm in the same boat as you. (Y)

Oh!
Sad
Maybe you can fix your Pads?
Or get a new one?
What Pads do you have?
FitPro is a very good one....I`d love to have a 2nd one...
But what are good Pads good for when you have neighbord under you and you are not allowed to play at all? LOL

I have two Cobalt Fluxes with the arcade mod. They were beautiful when I first got them, I remember the good ol' days of struggling with 11s yet being amazed at how wonderful my pads were. Smile Now they're shit! Cry

Also I did explain the problems here Lucie (press CTRL + F and type in "Explanation" once the page loads).

But as I can see from your scores you can still FC stuff...

Go to the German ITG Arcade...then you`ll experience what real shit Pads are like...
If you can FC ANYTHING on it, the you`ll be my ITG god!
I NEVER FC`s something on that machine...even 7s that I usually would SDG or FEC...NEVER.
IT`s not possible on that machine...cause it gives you MINIMUM 5-10 way-offs or misses per song.
Oh And you better not try to play anything with hands on it, cause you`ll fail.
It`s not possible to pass songs like Queen of Light or Dawn on it.

In comparison to those Pads yours are still ok.

True, mine are more responsive but I was still infuriated with how frustrating it was to play on them. It had at least one of two problems; if the pad wasn't moving like a stubborn bull my feet would stick to the pad. Pick yer poison as they say. Sad And playing in socks can be painful, I'm no Happy Feet tbh. So it's either whore easy shit for the rest of my CF's life or quit.

Re-furbish your pads and make them as good as new.

I recommend:
1. Taking the whole thing apart, down to the bare fake wood and sheet metal, rip off all the velcro.
2. Flip the pad over, drill holes for the wires to go through (you'll see three grooves in the pad, one down the middle and two going to all the arrows, drill holes in both ends of the grooves that go to the arrows).
3. Buy a 7' cat5 ethernet cable, cut it in half, remove the outer insulation for most of the wires (you may want the part that sticks out to remain).
4. Buy industrial strength velcro.
5. Place the ground plate on the pad, pull all your wires through the holes, then place velcro just like when you removed it (make sure you place one wire on the bottom of the velcro in contact with the ground plate.
6. Place the top part of all the velcro pieces (so you have sticky side up), then add a wire on some of these for your arrows, then place the sheet metal arrow on the velcro.
7. Place re-drill holes for your screws, place pictures, lexan, brackets, screws and all.
8. Buy a 3' cat5 cable, cut it in half.
9. Buy a CAT 5 RJ45 female-female connector (this will let you disconnect your control box easily).
10. Buy a project box from Radio Shack, drill a hole in it for the wires.
11. Buy a cheap USB controller (I recommend a Wingman Precision USB because they're durable and easy to open / solder to).
12. If you don't already have one buy a cheap soldering iron and some solder.
13. Open up the controller and solder your arrow wires to the controller (careful not to use Up + Down or Left + Right, to be save just solder your four arrows to the four buttons, then Start and Exit to Up + Left or Down + Right) (it's best to heat up the solder onto the wire itself to get a nice shiny coat, then solder the four arrows by heating up the tip of the wire while touching the point on the circuit board).
14. Place the control box and much of your excess wire in the project box so they don't break, consider screwing the project box into your dance pad so you won't have anyone tugging on the wires if they were just laying on the floor. Drill another hole for the USB output wire, possibly buy a USB-USB extension cable.
15. Open StepMania and re-map your arrows, and enjoy.
16. Use the extra half of the 7' cable and 3' cable to wire up your other pad, you should have enough velcro, just need to buy another controller and RJ45.

After you've done all this work, no matter what happens to your pads in the future you'll be able to fix them since you've now just re-built a dance pad back to better than new condition.

Err problem with step 10, I'm a UK resident, not a US. Also I'm really bad at hardware problems, I'd probably ending up breaking something LOL. I appreciate the help though. Smile

? If anything, not long enough, it's a lengthy process. Breaking stuff is part of the process, buy extras everything I listed would be cheap, and you don't NEED to have a project box, you could drill a hole in the controller casing and have a USB controller sitting on the floor. Basically you shouldn't count your Cobalt Flux pads out, mess around with them they aren't that hard to re-build (just time consuming).

LOL really? Not that I mind, I'm just surprised since he's only made two dumb posts. Oh well

Well I'll happily experiment on P1 if it is dead and gone but I wasn't expecting all that to be perfectly honest. I have heard about various modifications you can do like the penny mod so I will try those first. P2 on the other hand isn't dead, it's just sticky arrows and trying to keep it still on tougher songs, otherwise it's perfectly fine tbh, I was inches from getting my first tristar on pad. Cool

On topic

Can tristar this, just need to stop getting dumb greats haha.

Sightread. Quite fun chart by Arvin, vid of it is here
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04579.jpg

My best on this is a mid 80, this chart is soooo damn awkward.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04585.jpg

Sightread. Too awkward to score on

Not a sightread, can do better if I can learn where the footswitches are.

This chart is sooo much fun Big Grin
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04592.jpg

Sightread. Isn't this basically a rehash of Black Diamond by Stratovarious? Sounds similar to me. :/
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04597.jpg

Sightread. I swear Tachyon Gamma's 16s just hold off to make you think it's overrated until 24ths come out of nowhere.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04601.jpg

2nd try, first pass. Mirror ftw. Smile
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04602.jpg

Almost passed it. I will pass it soon, would be nice to pass my 3rd 18. Big Grin
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04603.jpg

Can't wait until my right index recovers, this chart just feels so doable.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04609.jpg

I do enjoy this chart and will try to 97 if not double star it.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04612.jpg

Siiick. Big Grin
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04617.jpg

Gay. I just can't pass this like I used to. Sad
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04629.jpg

If you have the speed, this is the easiest 17 you can pass imo, I can pass this on command.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04630.jpg

Have 80 something, this chart is tough to combo let alone pass.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b82/Ali_R_In_Da_House_2010/Keyboard%20scores%202011/screen04631.jpg

Awesome song and awesome chart. Demetori is amazing. Period. Big Grin

Finger scores?

I passed Thousand - Moby for the first time last night with 75%... The challenge isn't really the speed, it's maintaining it for such a long time...

*facepalm* Just because the thread derailed into pad maintenance doesn't mean that I'll post pad scores here, this is the StepMania accomplishments thread after all. Fun fact: besides a different profile name you can tell if they're pad scores or not because I read a lot faster on keyboard (750-840 Distant as opposed to 625-675 Distant on singles/375 Overhead on Dobules).
