I think the game costs too much for a domestic release as well. Like, with IIDX, I remember when controllers used to run about 100-150 shipped, plus the cost of a game (40-60), but that makes sense because of the import shipping costs.
I think this game should have been no more than 100. The cost of the games controller should have been subsidized by just including the game for free almost when you buy the controller instead of charging so much.
I'm still looking forward to this game though, seems like a quality music game... which is better then most of the shovelware US music games that come out.

Exactly. Especially when they're gonna rip us off with DLC anyway...

As for the pricing, yeah i feel like Activision is really milking it with the pricing on JUST the standard kit, and for the Renegade Edition? Although it ALMOST seems reasonable for $200, as of lately you can get a NINTENDO WII for that price at Wal-Mart...somewhere in the US, don't know if it's officially dropped >_>
Well, still a little bit indecisive as to which kit to get, i mean, if i get $100 from my friend, then i might shoot for the Renegade, but then there is DLC to look after...hmmmm tough >_<

Should be:
Normal Game: $60
Game with Controller: $100
Renegade: $170
Wonder how much the stand alone controller will cost? You know it will be some BS price.
Anyone know how much were Guitar controllers (wired and wireless) when GH1 came out?

I'm still anti-DJ Hero.
Truthfully, I'm hoping that this game does okay for one reason.
When Beatmania moves to a next-gen (technically current-gen) console, there is a part of me that believes that Beatmania could get a second chance in the US.
Far-fetched but nothing like hoping.

In any case, this doesn't look half bad. When I invest in a PS3, I'll look at getting this.

"Charlie isn't real" |
DJ Cut Chemist and J. Period confirmed to be in the game...but not as playable characters though...
...meh, sounds good, but those parts where you scratch and press the buttons at the same time got me all confused @__@.
Four new mixes have resurfaced from uhhhh some conference/convention in Europe i guess...don't know where but DJ Hero was there and a BUNCH of new songs just happened to be on that demo (or completed game?)
Here they are for your listening pleasure
Jay Z - IZZO vs Jackson 5 -I want you Back
Cameo-Word Up vs. BBD-Poison
Daft Punk Megamix1 (it seems to be a mix of "Technologic" and "Television Rules The Nation.")
Daft Punk - Da Funk vs. N.A.S.A. - Strange Enough ft. Karen O, ODB and Fatlip

OMG. I saw a Sprite banner under the DJ booth in the megamix video. I love Sprite.
Totally relevant.

"Charlie isn't real" |
So IGN has put up a preview page for the game. It's two pages long so i'll just summarize it for you:
The main game mode (a.k.a DJ Hero's "Career Mode") has you starting off with a tutorial mode, after that is completed, you are shown different vinyl covers for different DJ's/different types of play. Each vinyl has a different song to play and/or it can contain sets of songs for you to play. As you can imagine, as you are progressing through the game, the songs get harder and more "awesome".
After completing a vinyl set list, you then have the option of a "Quicklist", this basically categorizes the songs by difficulty and can contain up to eight tracks.
Euphoria (achieved when you do not miss a note for a long streak) can be activated and once it has been activated, the bass of the song is boosted and you get an automatic crossfader that crossfades the track for you, basically leaving your right hand free until the Euphoria ends.
The "Rewind" feature is activated when you spin the disc of the controller counter-clockwise, once that happens, the multiplyer is added, so you can score more points for a long section of notes (for example).
This game is compatible with the Guitar Hero controller and you can also hook up a microphone to "MC" the track.
You can read the full page here.
What i am worried about is how the standard controller holds up to the Renegade's controller...is the "R" controller more durable and can withstand a "beating" than the Standard one? Hopefully they clear this up before i go and pre-order this game
