I see the circular button, I think it's just the way the lighting effects are that make it look like that.;)

I can't see the other button.Neutral

Yeah, I can see it too. I applied a Sepia tone to the pic and zoomed in and you can see the circular button in the middle, but as Pandemonium said I can't see the other button.

As for the rest of the Cabinet Design, I don't know why, but I'm thinking "jubeat technology" here. Everything right now is all about "touch screen" (ie cell phones, new hp computer, ipod touch, etc.) Konami already has the tech so why not incorporate it to the new "Revolutionized DDR"?!?!?

just some thoughts... OH! and yeah they should definitely include High Definition screens that would be awesome!!! LOL

DDR X is going to be a truly global version with the brand name changed from Dancing Stage to Dance Dance Revolution on this model and for all future models.

Oh poo. Sad

Farewell Dancing Stage you will be sorely missed.

Still, if Konami were going to change the name wouldn't the release of SuperNOVA have been a better point seeing as it was well and truly the first global DDR release? I knew in the back of my mind it would happen sometime perhaps, especially since Konami's deal with EMI seems to have ended and they only originally gave our version the title of Dancing Stage to get round that deal in the first place.

So, European Dance Dance Revolution... this will take a little getting used too.
I wonder how Konami are going to handle the name changeover, if at all?

Anyway, in regards to the cabinet design it is very odd in many ways, especially those things sticking up either side. It will be nice when we get a clear idea of what they are and what they are for.
Personally, I can't see Konami using a touch based screen for song selection especially when the yellow arrow and green rectangle buttons have worked well enough so far.
I can definitely see full flat screens being used to save some space and improve visual quality. It's something that I think Konami should definitely do and I know that a few SuperNOVA machines somewhere had this feature implemented. Also it does seem to be becoming the in thing for arcade machines these days to use flat screens.

Oh wow, those extra buttons really ARE there.
Look:

There's the circular button that is pointed out by the arrow and then you can see that where the green select button and yellow arrow buttons are, there appear to be up and down buttons too.

By the by, am-net reports that widescreen monitor and USB support is included with this release. Which explains the early release of the PS2 version...

Oh-ho...
Konami really DID listen to you guys!!
And also, I forgot to mention that it being HD is a given, seeing how SuperNOVA was anyway. But added widescreen will make it very pretty Big Grin

Oops, looks like I missed out a key point.

It took me a while to translate figure out what the hell is a ORIJINARU SHIIKENSHARU ... which is original [something] ... then it clicked. Original Sequencer is what it is. The whole sentence translates literally to:

USB memory use for PS2 version and original sequencer linking possible
Could this suggest KONAMI is releasing a separate program for us to make EDITs on PC?

OMFG Maybe, they'll let you import songs! So like, you go to stepmania, make you own song, and then play it at the arcades!

SuperNOVA isn't running at an HD resolution, just 640x480. Last I checked, that's one-third the pixels of the lowest HD resolution (720p).

SuperNOVA is running 640x480 in 60fps progressive mode, hence why everything looks so sharp and smooth on monitors that support it.

I can't picture any arcade game using a touch screen unless it's more practical or part of the game's design (e.g. Jubeat). But, as I'm writing this, it CAN be more economical as it saves on moving parts (in DDR's case, the buttons below the screen).

Exactly what I was thinking.

Since it may have USB support, this could mean that song edits will be saved on flash drives instead of the PS2 memory card. On the other hand, If they're made on a computer like Al said, it would make sense to save it on a USB drive. I guess we'll have to wait for more info on this.

Wait WideScreen means that you don't have to change the TV Screen to Normal? Because that's what I have to do to make my games look shraper and clearer...

This is for the ARCADE version. I'm not sure if there will be a widescreen option for the home versions.

Maybe it could use a touch screen, but all the controls would be at the bottom or side where you don't need to look during play.
