"BACK IT UP BACK IT UP" |
Wow, I've posted in here, but never introduced myself.
So hey!! the name's Cory and I'm from Waseca, Minnesota, a small town with a population of about 10,000, which lies about half an hour away from the closest rhythm game (PIU: Zero). The better locations are about an hour+ away in the Twin Cities region. Well, I've been playing since my freshman year in high school with MAX 2. A pair of friends introduced me, and after trying my hand at it a few times I was hooked. Every year since, I've gotten the newest PS2 releases, and after grabbing Ultramix 3, I have purchased each following Xbox copy. Right now, I rarely play at home, because it just doesn't feel the same as playing on AC. And pretty much nothing has changed since my last posts in the Difficulty range thread. With a pump being not far from home, I play that quite a bit too, and mostly it's Zero or newer. There are a few ITG2s in the cities, and I can do up to the 11/12 area, but I usually stick with 10's. I've been playing IIDX a ton since one of my friends showed me DIstorteD. I got a Swap Magic and have almost every CS game (I think
). I had a chance to try Pop'n over last spring break and got into the mid-20 range. I also tried GF at a nearby county fair a few months back, and got to about the 30 mark. OKAY, enough music game stuff. I was born on July 14th in 1989 (currently age 19). I'm attending Minnesota State Uiversity: Mankato for a major in Music Industry (previously Graphic Design). Uh... I'll add more later...

It seems everyone is posting late intros so I think i will too
Anyway,
Hi I'm KKiONI, also know as Kevin. I found out about DDR in August 2007 when my friend bought Ultramix 4. When I first played it, I absolutely loved it (though I absolutely sucked). Even though I remember saying "I'd never be seen playing such a game" when I was 8 years old.
After that I loved DDR so much I played it every time I went to his house. And that's how I stumbled across stepmania. My first downloaded songs were: Take Me Back, Mr. Roboto, and Mortal Combat ~techno theme~ (or something like that. I then after wanted more out of stepmania and downloaded DDR Mario Mix songs for stepmania.
I then wanted UM4 simfiles but couldn't find any. I then stumbled across Z-i-V. I later decided to join because I thought I should be part of the community since I went there so much. I didn't really start posting till January and didn't start posting often until last Summer.
So my first DDR was HP for Wii. It was ans awesome game but I preferred SN2 (which my other friend had). At christmas I asked for SN2, but Extreme 2 instead. Graphics sucked but I did like the songs
. After Christmas, I bought SN2 played that only. I eventually unlocked all songs by playing online (HMM was too hard at the end). And a week or two ago, I bought X and I have to say that was the easiest game I ever fully unlocked.
So as time passed, I got better at DDR and by early 2008, I was better than my friend who knew how to play the game long before me. I went from failing some
songs to passing some tricky
songs
Well that's basically my story

I havnt done this I believe, but anyways...
My name is Shane, I'm from Ohio & I'm 16 years old. I'm currently a junior in high school & I plan to attend college for culinary arts, theater/acting major, or directing/editing movies. I'm a fan of the DDR, IIDX, & Sonic the Hedgehog series
I first played DDR when KONAMIX came out, my mom first got it for workout, but I got hooked on it, same with my older brother (he was a DDR player, but stopped). Ever since I got KONAMIX, I never stopped. In my spare time I tend to draw whatever I feel like drawing, I also like to play volleyball when I get the chance.

Fine, I'll do one too.
My name is ---- uhh.. AnxD and I'm from SoCal. I just turned 17 a few months back and I'm a senior in High School. I'm planning on going to Art Center College of Design for Entertainment Design. I started playing BEMANI games back when Dance Dance Revolution came out and stopped after 3rd mix. I picked it up again when MAX2 was released and started playing level 7s and higher from there (Freckles was my first Heavy song). A bit after, my friend introduced me to Guitar Freaks and from there I started playing Drum Mania. Nowadays, I stick to the IIDX and Popn' machines. I'm Japanese-American and plan on moving out of the United States when I graduate.

Guess I'll give this a go, since I've never done this before.
I'm Erika, and I'm from the obscure town of Richland, Washington.
I first got to playing Dance Dance Revolution on one of my birthdays, where I went to Triple Play, a fun park-thing in Idaho. They had an arcade with an Extreme machine; I was absolutely horrible. My first song was Graduation ~sorezore no ashita~, which I spammed on beginner, because it was the only song I could pass. My next two songs were Senorita (Speedy Mix) and bag, and I obviously failed both. When I assisted some random girl in how to pick Versus mode, we ended up playing together, and she totally owned me; Even though she was only a Standard player I thought it was so awesome, so when I arrived home I picked up Extreme 2. I played it all day, until I got hooked and bought more games.
I now currently have Extreme 2, SuperNova, and SuperNova 2, although that's sure to change when I purchase more games. I also recently got a Cobalt Flux. I can't play much on AC, as the only machine close to me is a SuperNova about a mile away, but I get to use it sometimes.
Thus concludes my life story.

"Nature: Naughty" |
Sure, why not?
Several people here may know me as Howie, but even that isn't my real name. It was a name given to me by some of my peers in school when they couldn't figure out what my real name was (because approaching me face-to-face and asking me is obviously too difficult). However, because my real name is more common than dirt, I tend to go by Howie. Only a handful of people know what my real name is. (And you keep your mouths shut.
)
I'm 24, half-Chinese, and I work for the U.S. Air Force. I get moved around every now and then, but whenever I can, I try to go back to my hometown in Biloxi, Mississippi to get some DDR in with some old friends.
Technically, I first started DDR around winter of 2001 on a 3rd Mix. Unfortunately, it was a dollar per game and I couldn't play to save my life, so it was a little too expensive for me to get into, but it did spark my interest enough for me to go download some songs from the game. Fast forward to early summer of 2002. 3rd Mix is replaced with 5th Mix. I learn of new songs to download, but it's still a dollar per game, so I'm not into it yet. Finally, at the end of July 2002, the arcade dropped the price to 50 cents, allowing me to fit the habit into my budget.
At my peak, I believe I was the second best at DDR in my area. Then I decided to join the Air Force. That provided me with more than enough money to pay for not just DDR, but pretty much any habit I could ever decide to get into. Unfortunately, I immediately got stationed at a base where the nearest arcade is at least two hours away. As a result, my pad skills have been deteriorating pretty bad.

You've posted that here before.Oh, and the guy in your sig pic looks vaguely like a guy I saw at Anime Banzai on the 24th. He probably wasn't 24 though.
I believe my intro can be found several pages back, so I won't repost it.

Decided to update this...(I actually cut-n-pasted my old post)
In my mid-20s, played DDR since about April 2001 (5th mix), stopped for about 2-3 years due to American football injury, working my way back up to my old skill level (8 footer max), still trying to improve my timing and gain more stamina. I mainly play for fun & exercise. You'd usually find me in either a popular arcade in NYC, Dave & Buster's Times Square (only SN2 in town AFAIK) or (rarely) Toys R Us Times Square (unpatched SN1). Would like to learn IIDX on an AC cab, if there were any IIDX machines in NYC to begin with
.
My other hobbies are watching anime, playing music, fixing computers, and, as strange as it seems, learning other languages (I speak English and Spanish, can understand a little French, learning Japanese, and can read Russian)
About that football injury, it happened when I was tackled by three 300-lb men in the park, and all of them landed on my legs.

"i'm back " |
my Introduction
:
In mid August 2006 I started to play DDR from 0.....
I never played before and I got interest from watching my friends playing.....
That's when SuperNOVA is about to come.....
In just about 1-2 months I beat my friend who had played for about 6 months..... (I was surprised)
(at that time I just played 2-3 times on ARC before, the rest is from CS)
soon I passed breakdown!
with D (my really first 9 footer)
followed with dead end, csfil sm, healing angelic, tsugaru, etc. (All in MAX2)
several days later I'm supposed to try SuperNOVA.... (It's still dancing stage)
And... it disappointed me a lot.....
broken pad...... bad sync..... but in expensive price..... damn....
later again I attempted to pass MAX 300
yeah... I did!
it's more like dying forcing myself to pass my 1st 10 footer.....
and the rest is my improvement till now.....
I'm not a very skilled DDR player, but I will improve myself even more...
and I will share my dislikes to piu (pump it up)....
why i dislike piu?
just because of it's scoring system....
my DDR scoring was down once because of piu.....
but playing piu is sure raising your agility and stamina...
but I prefer DDR far more than piu now....
thx 4 reading..... GBU
I'm sorry if there are grammar mistakes^^

Hello, my name is Joe Eder
26 years old, currently living in Southern California. Disneyland is my neighbor. Fucking serious, like 5 minutes away from the park.
Sorry, I swear a bit
Played DDR since January 2001. To be honest, never quite achieved Godhood, rather, I started discovering lots of other music games over time.
I'm mostly a reader of forums, very rarely a poster, most people say what I want to say before I get a chance to say it. But, still find lots of good info here, and enjoy the forum none the less.

Hiryuu here.
Most would probably know me from other rhythm sites, particularly Bemanistyle among others. Most of the expertise I have in the rhythm category is simfile creation, which I've done for about four years and played DDR for five. It's more or less off and on for the former anymore but I'm still relatively active in terms of making those files.
Provided I get some on here, you might want to check them out and leave me a bit of info. I definitely don't mind the feedback.

Wow, hey Hiryuu. Never thought I'd see you outside of Bemanistyle. I rememebr a number of your simfiles, my favorite being Healing Vision RMX. Hope to see you upload some more on this site.
Also, if you feel the need for a little quirkiness, swing by the Kawaii Rangers thread or drop Oni-91 a line asking about it. Just in case.

Noted! Glad someone knows who I am around here! >.>
And speaking of that sim...I REALLY want to do a V2 of that because I know I could do a little better than I did about...two or three years ago. There's so much I missed in doing that.
Didn't know Oni-91 was here. I'll have to look over at that thread in question.
