1) When you look at a beginner and go, "haha that's so easy"
2) When you wait for people to finish and hope they fail so you get to play sooner
3) When you play a especially hard song to show off to people that are around
4) When you challenge anyone within a 5 foot radius of the machine to a round of DDR
5) When you have motivation to write a letter to your local arcade just because their DDR pads suck and need upgrading (I'm looking at you Dave & Busters)

2) oops... imy bad... I do it Blushing

5) I do it too, but via e-mail and by sending sms.

btw...

I know I've played DDR too much when
1) you prefer to spend your money to play DDR than buying lunch or dinner.
2) you think that playing DDR is as good as breakfast .
3? when you start thinking that one day without playing DDR feels like hell.

I made a complaint about that machine (It was a SuperNOVA2 at the time). The "technicians" came out, unscrewed the arrows, touched things, and screwed the arrows back on. Said the machine was fine. >_>

It still is, and it still sucks. It is most definitely NOT fine. The P1 side is broken, and stomping is required on the P2 side. Also, there has been some error message the last 3 times I've gone, so I've gone to Boomers to play my music games, and they have MAX2, EXTREME, Hiphopmania, all in good condition.

That's really unfortunate. The techs at our DnB in Dallas are overwhelmingly good at keeping our machine in shape.

Have you attempted to contact the general manager of your DnB? We are always as nice as we can be to the GM 'cause he always brings it down on the techs. He appreciates our business and knows we bring in a lot (new people often, food + game cards etc). As long as you respect them, they tend to respect you when you're there all the time.

Also, I managed a family fun center for a year - when it comes to dancing games, most techs are oblivious. The design on them are completely different than your average arcade game. Try and be as courteous as you can and ask if you can explain how it works. We had a tech one time step on the arrow, 1 of 4 sensors lit up and he said it was fine. After explaining to him how I (and a lot of my friends) played, and almost never touched the outside two sensors, he realized he needed to start assessing the machine differently.

Do you know the name of the GM, or should I just write "General Manager of Dave and Busters" followed by the address?
Also, what would the possibilities of them upgrading be do you suppose, and if they say no, what are possible solutions to this that doesn't involve an upgrade, as something is better then nothing?

Each DnB has a different general manager specific to their location. I'd recommend talking to him in person. It'd definitely have a greater impact than a letter. If I ever got a letter that said, "listen you're doing it all wrong" I'd toss it aside and be done with it.

If it were me, I'd say something along the lines of "Hey mister GM, my name is this and my friends and I play on your dance game several times a week. It's pretty much a way of life for us. We would be immensely greatful if we could work with your techs to help restore it in a fashion that is adequate for people that play a little bit harder than most, going for scores."

In reference for asking them to upgrade, there's not really going to be an easy way to do that, I'm sure. From their perspective, you're taking a perfectly fine, money-making $8,000 game and sinking another $2-3000 in it for.. new songs? They really don't care about that. For us, we basically made it really apparent to all the managers, but specifically our GM that, we're there. Every Wednesday and Friday, we're there - sometimes Saturdays. We eat there almost every night we're there. The amount of revenue they're gaining from our recurring attendance is.. substantial. So in turn, our GM felt it worth spending X amount on our Pump upgrade everytime a new one came out - and here we are, 2nd Fiesta in the US when it came out, 1st Fiesta world-wide when it came out. GM actually said that between a friend and I alone, we brought them enough revenue to pay for the Pump upgrades.

Just gotta do some social engineering.

You know you play to much ddr if,
You Know every song in a certain game,
You Drink all the water in you're cooler because you are sweating like crazy,
You get AAA's everyday,
and you eat nothing for 8 Hours.

Guilty, guility.

Minus the cooler, I have messenger bag filled with water bottles.
I'm a twinkle little mermaid bro.

"MAKE IT! MAKE MONEY!"
You know you play ITG too much if...

You buy your own ITG/ITG2 machine

You play the machine everyday...
Your water bill has gone up $500 cause your drinking so much water cause you sweat like hell
You keep spamming KONAMI's inbox begging them to give ITG back to RoXoR so they'll make more ITG games.
You own ITG for PS2 and play when your machine crashes
You made your own fake ITG
You hack your ITG2 machine to ITG3
If you can't hack your ITG2 machine to ITG3, you make your own custom ITG3 machine
You never visit your friends or family cause your too busy playing ITG.
You die of exhaustion at the age of 34.

And many more >_>
ITG is better than DDR, no matter how short it lasted.Cool

They do (or did), it was called Pump It Up PRO. Not sure why they stopped making them. I think half the devs went to iDance and the other half to RE:RAVE. It's just not the same, man...

That's me in 4 more months and I'm still getting better at this game, age is just a number don't let it defeat you (but my company sponsored a fitness evaluation and out of 4000+ employees they said my results were the best, blood work, fitness results, and they said my fitness age was 4years younger than I really am, and playing machine dancing is really the bulk of my workouts by far).

It's my experience that physical health has little to do with what you eat and almost everything to do with how ACTIVE you are. So...

You know you've played too much DDR when you tell your friends you just got done working out... at the mall.

You know you play too much ITG if you yell (or ask nicely) at people and kids to get off the bar so that the bar won't get loose.

ITG suffers from this. DDR's bars, however, seems to be built to last.

When you become so addicted to Doubles that you don't even play SP anymore and would rather not play a round if you don't have enough change for double play.

Also そばかす -Freckles- (KCP Re-Edit) Heavy DP is a bitchfor me. I can pass it well, though.
