People need to relax, they are probably holding back a bit because, IDK, this game is coming to America, so instead of revealing half the song list before releasing it to America to the fans would be unproductive to the company if people didn't know there were more songs.

Yeah but if they release about 15 songs before it comes stateside/international that means we get a bigger song list at start compared to what Japan and Asia just got at their release. Remember, most people outside of Asia won't even know that these songs were appended to the original song count. Not to mention for the people that haven't played since X2/DDR II, there are so many new songs to begin with.


I was just thinking about this as I read through Kosaka Riyu's Twitter and Instagram feed. I was thinking about how some 16 years ago DDR got it's first J-Pop song and how the game didn't even start with the genre in the first place!

Latest i heard is that Round 1 should get it by July, earliest is May. And Dave and Busters shoul;d have it in the summer (no exact month given).

btw, really, if konmai wants to give us horrible (and not in the fact that they're fixing bugs. i mean songwise) ddr updates where the songs they put are vocaloid and touhou stuff at least they could choose better.

i mean. is having some j-pop difficult? i guess so?
the times when there where ddr had the dancemania licenses were great.
too bad i was too young.

I listened to all 3, trying to keep an open mind. I didn't really like After School Stride. Iro wa Nioiedo was okay. Happy Synthesizer was a little better than okay, but not even close to something I would say I love.

On a scale of 1-10:

After School Stride-2.5/10
Iro wa-5.7/10
Happy Synthesizer-6.1/10

yes.
the touhou one is one of the most overrated touhou arrangaments. it's at the same level of things like cirno's math class and help me eirin (also, i sort-off hate how bland can be starving trancer/xceon/iceon/whatever with his music.)
i generally dislike last note. houkago stride is no exception.
happy synthethizer is annoying af for me.

I'm not much of a fan of those songs either but i'm not complaining about it. Maybe you could learn a thing or two from the phrase "If you've got nothing nice to say, say nothing". There are people who like those songs and are excited for the charts. Don't ruin it for them.

Look, so far it's not DDR X2, but so far it's not DDR 2014 either.

But the fact there's new stuff at all is cause enough for me to get excited, so I'm going hype mode because you know what; it's fun for me to truly go get hyped, and I haven't been able to get this excited for DDR news in ever (beating my personal hype champion RDi) especially since there's a slim chance I get to play this thing for real in an arcade, and you know what?

Even if this release has a crappy song list, just getting all the Konami Original's from DDR X2 all the way to DDR 2014 will be enough content for me.

EDIT: Assuming they fix the timing issues, that's kind of bad, but I'd assume that they would because I like to believe Bemani still has the power to do things well.

Are you implying that either DDR X2 or 2014 are particularly bad? Both have great songs, and 2014 still has around the same amount of good songs that X2 has, just with more meh songs inbetween.
