Al, now that IGN is saying North America, Europe and Australia, should the thread read (Multi-platform) (Multi-region)?
Estimated release dates:
US: September 2009.
EU: September 20100.
Sound about right?

It's still 4 completely different games, developed by completely different teams. They just (were assuming) share a common songlist.

Looks like a good list. My only beef with it is:
As much as I like KISS, wtf? They don't really belong in DDR...
New Kids On The Block: It's not really necessary
PCD: For god sakes, YOUR MUSIC SUCKS! But of course, Konami needs a song like this to solidify the popular licenses.
Pork and Beans does not really belong as well. (Yes I know you all like this song, but you can't help but say this is more for Guitar Hero than anything else)
And.... Pocket Full Of Sunshine. They can do much better than this song.
Other than that, I can't say I'm dissapointed. Lacking a little bit in the dance department (and by dance, I mean the dance genre) but that's what the last 3 licenses are for

We will always need to catch up. At this point, I doubt we'll ever see some of the Japan-locked KOs.
Here It Goes Again had a fantastic step chart though. If the KONAMI-given steps are that good, they can really make these "not very danceable songs" into amazing DDR additions.

What Im seeing for this DDR is gonna be a bunch of X songs and some older DDR songs. I bet the JP version is gonna have a lot of songs for the next DDR machine no doubt about that since they alweays get the better games
. But I will upload the ps3 song list once the game launchs november 4th and Ill have some DLC uploaded aswell Ill try my best to rip the mp3s for the DLC.

We've already been told more or less exactly what we're getting as far as the number of songs go, so why you're making this statement is beyond me.

60+ songs, 50 brand new, with 10 or so being songs from X and below...Probably.
(PS2 anyways).

Does anyone know if there is another Broadjam contest going on or not?
Since that might take the last unknowns of the 30 licenses.
Checked the website and nope, no DDR contest going on Since that might take the last unknowns of the 30 licenses.

I dunno if I should be happy about that. Then again, I never really did play any of the contest winning songs on stepmania.

Actually, if Pork and Beans was in Guitar Hero, I would feel EXTREMELY cheated, since the whole song is essentially four chords. It'd be pretty awful in Guitar Hero.

But that was DDR X. Rather a throwaway game, neh? We still need to catch up to the KO's in Japan.

Just the Olav Basoski remix. It's still a possibility, but Southside is more likely.Quote: Pandemonium X

Again with the X hate?

X wasn't bad, but I think a lot of people expected it to trump SuperNOVA 2 and it was only as good. And these same people didn't like the direction that was taken with the music. So that equals a bad game to them.
I only hope that Konami realizes how awesome the X engine is and keeps it for a while like the MAX engine. It's the kind of build that can withstand several games with only minor tweaking.
